1. "The University of Pennsylvania, where Warren worked from 1987 to 1994, listed her as a minority in a 'Minority Equity Report.' The report comes after Harvard Law School claimed Warren as a diversity hire in 1996."
2. "There is nothing left of the claim that Elizabeth Warren is 1/32 Cherokee. The documentary sources have been debunked, and the genealogist and genealogical society which originated the story and upon whom the Warren campaign relies are not talking."
3. As for Warren, she says: "I feel like Scott Brown is raising ugly insinuations and I think he is doing it because he doesn’t want to talk about what is happening to Americas families. Middle class families are getting hammered and 72 hours ago Scott Brown voted to hammer them harder. And that is what this campaign should be about. Whose side do you stand on?"
4. Meanwhile: "Ben Affleck, Matt Damon to host Warren fundraiser."

Good to know that Will Hunting is coming to the rescue.
Just keep repeating: "It's not your fault."
And someone commenting on this blog desribed this woman as "brilliant"?
I know fam and friends in Ma. The Dems like Brown and find Warren bordering on insufferable. Just a glimpse I know but I think people everywhere have varying degrees of problems w/ Affirmative Action. If she gets really desperate maybe she'll have Jay Silverheels or Sonny Sixkiller hold a fund raiser. Leonard Peltier won't be available for a fundraiser until Obama is a lame duck.
I believe the phrase is, "I love it when a Lefty plan comes totally unstuck".
Warren says: "I feel like Scott Brown is raising ugly insinuations and I think he is doing it because he doesn’t want to talk about what is happening to Americas families."
Warren's family is only a fraction of what it once was.
Elizabeth Warren might be a liar. She might be incompetent. She might be a fool.
These conclusions seem likely.
I like the idea of Iron Eyes Cody holding a fundraiser for her.
How the heck would Elizabeth Warren--she of the two Harvard Law Professor incomes at right around a million dollars a year--know about middle class families?
These lefty limo liberals talk a good game, but when it comes to the middle class, they don't know their elbow from third base.
I'd call her a fat head, except her head appears to be content free.
Since somebody has to do it:
Matt Damon!
What about Miley Cyrus's brother? Is he Native American?
I feel like Scott Brown is raising ugly insinuation
I feel like Scott Brown is raising the ugly fact that I used my (fake) Native american heritage to get ahead.
The most hilarious part must be how Warren's ancestors rounded up Cherokees and forced them onto the Trail of Tears.
So she is a minority!
I mean, how many people can point directly to genocide by someone in their own family tree?
And how ballsy, to twist that history into a claim for Indian ancestry. Man, what chutzpah!
Kewl!!!
Her Indian name Spreading Bull

Not even an inkling.
I understand Warren's old family lore also tells of a great grandfather who got bullied in high school by a Romney ancestor, who cut off his hair, and the episode bothered him for many years after.
"Ben Affleck, Matt Damon to host Warren fundraiser."
Useful idiots.
@Althouse: Trace Cyrus looks like he got scalped for that tattoo!
What a bizarre juxtaposition.
"I feel like Scott Brown is raising ugly insinuations and I think he is doing it because he doesn’t want to talk about what is happening to Americas families."
What is happening to America's families is they are suffering through an economy run by incompetents. I'm sure he very much wants to talk about that.
In Good Will Hunting, Matt Damon plays a genius.
That took some serious acting, man.
There's a scene where he's trying to show off how esoteric his reading is and he mentions Howard Zinn. WTF?? Generic socialism history of the US, sold over a million copies.
I think Damon is 1/32nd Trisomy tribe.
This whole thing is SO pathetic, in any one of a dozen narratives.
I've commented on this before so I won't repeat myself, but I know a little bit about Oklahomans. You can't back out of your driveway there without running over three people of at least alleged Cherokee descent.
The fact that Warren is a native Oklahoman and can't produce ANY legitimate evidence of NA ancestry is just astounding. Epic fail.
Fauxcahontis indeed!
"I feel like Scott Brown is raising ugly insinuation."
1) You don't just feel it - it's really happening.
2) It's not just Scott Brown doing it.
3) It's not just an insinuation - it's a fact.
4)You did get one thing right: it is really ugly.
"Trace Cyrus looks like he got scalped for that tattoo"
Romney strikes again!
Liz sez: "I feel..."
Exactly. And that's all you do, and feeling is as deep as you go. As soon as it feels good or bad, you stop. It's why you are a Dem, it's why you are a liberal.
Try thinking. Then try thinking critically. Try not to pander or succumb to confirmation bias. Try to envision unintended consequences. Try to understand your oppositions argument, not find fault with them as people.
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are 1/16 numb and skull.
The French have an apt term for people like Elizabeth Warren:
La gauche caviar
Isn't what Warren has done an analog to the crime of stolen valor?
She's a proven liar; she's commited fraud in obtaining employment; and, she's attempted to conceal her first lie with a series of false, exculpatory statements.
That's exactly what's wrong in America.
Character doesn't matter and anyone who says it does is being judgmental.
This is definitely a story with legs, and Warren is unlikely to get it behind her. She's tagged as the faker who tried to game the affirmative action shtick (and succeeded). Since she did it to gain an advantage that wasn't warranted, it will bring her down. The Hollywood angle just makes her look even more ridiculous.
In 1995, Iron Eyes Cody was honored by the American Indian community for his work publicizing the plight of Native Americans, including his acting in films.
In 1996, his Italian ancestry was made public.
Mark O,
It's just like the old oppressive days with you up there on that horse with your cowboy hat and six-shooter attacking Indians all over again.
Have you no shame?
Leave Lizzy alone!
This is a line of Indians leaving Rancho Malario--to make room for YOU!
Here's the beautiful Trail of Tears Golf Course.
Has any member of Warren's family commented on the "family lore" bit?
New!
A newly revealed document taken from a 1999 Affirmative Action Plan Book published by Harvard University indicates that Elizabeth Warren was officially listed as a Native American by Harvard Law School. Though Warren is not mentioned by name, the report shows just one Native American member of the law school. Reports in the Harvard Crimson from 1996 and 1998 both identify Warren as the Native American member of the staff.
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/05/11/Exclusive-Harvard-EEOC-Report-1999-Listed-Warren-as-Native-American
RV - " “Her appointment was based on the excellence of her scholarship and teaching,” said Stephen Burbank, who was acting dean of Penn’s law school in 1995. “I do not know whether members of the faculty were even aware of her ancestry, but I am confident that it played no role whatsoever in her appointment."
========================
Roesch-Voltaire completely misses that under current HR practices, and with lawsuits in mind - Anyone who comments on affirmative action for the institution doing so - on university selections or job hires/promotions - is well-coached.
1. Start with a denial that there is anyway, shape, or form a quota system.
2. Deny that the hirer or selection board is in any way under pressure to get minorities. That instead, they are well trained to cherish diversity and "other life experiences" as great and highly desirable traits that make for a better company workforce, management team, or for "an improved student body".
3. Always, for the sake of deterring lawsuits - strongly insist that the minorities selected are "fully qualified for the job".
4. Throw in globalism, US demographics..."We have to hire a workforce, a student body that reflects "the community", the nation, the Globe.
5. Having the AA-generated , properly apportioned headcount numbers proves you are not racist!
---Middle class families are getting hammered and 72 hours ago Scott Brown voted to hammer them harder. And that is what this campaign should be about. Whose side do you stand on?"
I think she meant 'whose side do you mount your war-pony from?'.
It is funny when you realize, Mitt Romney is more Mexican than Elizabeth Warren is American Indian.
A couple tidbits:
1. As Ann Althouse likely knows as a law prof, certain Law Schools are notoriously selective on early credentials when hiring Faculty. Harvard apparantly has a reputation of only hiring profs in who graduate from Top 10 law schools. Lower tier law school grads - no matter how well they did as lawyers or academics later - are on the outs.
Apparantly there is only one member of Harvard Law School Faculty who DIDN'T graduate from the Elite 10 . Elizabeth Warren, its only female minority Prof at the time, who was hired in back when her law school was rated 98th in the country.
2. On the Indian names, I sort of like "Little White Dove". For "Running Bear"..you can be flexible, it could be Obama, it could be Deval Patrick, it could be the fat old Irish guy heading the Boston Machine.
Neat old song. Well-suited to be revived for Elizabeth Warren rallies, or a spoof campaign video.
"Little White Dove", in its own way, is both crueler and more nuanced as satire than the obvious names tossed out - like Sackawarrenga, Fuaxcahontas, Chief Spreading Bull..
They still don't get it. The only defensible class of minority is the individual. They have defined "minority equity" as an oxymoron. It is intrinsically inequitable to the only minority of consequence. How do these people express themselves with a straight face? Their conception of "minority" is a contributor to progressive corruption of individuals and society.
Whose side do you stand on?
The Cherokees.
Middle class families are getting hammered...
Guess what, Liz. As a middle class American I'd like to say, it's the likes of you and all your other fascist friends that are hammering us. You call us racist, Nazis, teabaggers, etc. All we do is work hard, enjoy moderate success, support ourselves and pay our taxes. Quit using our name to advance your agenda and go fuck yourself.
Middle class families are getting hammered...
Listening to Elizabeth Warren sure makes me want to get hammered...
Anyone have any direct evidence of Warren's supposed great teaching ability? The supposed ability that vaulted her from the 98th rated law school to #1 over thousands of other non-Native American professors?

One of the few to survive a scalping. That Romney! He's such an incompetent hater.
It's only appropriate that she's thrown a fundraiser by two guys who spend their days pretending to be something they are not.
“Her appointment was based on the excellence of her scholarship and teaching,” said Stephen Burbank, who was acting dean of Penn’s law school in 1995.
There is no doubt that she was an excellent candidate in a field of excellent candidates. Her selection was not at the expense of candidates significantly more qualified than she. It's like choosing a winner in an Olympic event like ice skating in which all of the finalists have scores of 9.9. The diversity move after the Triple Axel gave her a 9.91.
I love the choice of issue she's trying to get people to move their attention to.
See, it's fundamental, basic microeconomics. A student willing to pay X of his own/family's money to go to a college will be just as willing to pay X no matter how much additional money the Feds are kicking in. For every dollar Y the Feds kick in (like by lowering borrowing costs), all that will happen is that tuition will go up to $X+Y, the university capturing the money.
The people who lose when student loans become more expensive are not the people buying college educations, but the people selling them. Just like when mortgage rates go up, the result is people selling houses get less money.
So the question is, is Elizabeth Warren too ignorant of basic economics to know this (and thus unqualified for the Senate)? Or is she hoping ignorance among the common people will cause them to not understand her stance is nothing but an effort to stuff their tax money into her own pockets and those of her colleagues?
I don't know. Given her blatantly lying about her ancestry for personal advantage, it seems like the answer should be the latter, but academics are generally so ignorant of economics even as they affect academic institutions that it's plausible that it's the former.
Oh, so she lied on her resume.
That's pretty definitive, isn't it?
It's a pity that Philip Dick didn't write the Minority Equity Report. I think he would've had some fun with that.
@C4
All together now..."On the bank, by the river, stands Running Bear..."
Gawd I am so depressed by cheesy indian songs. "Indian Outlaw", "Little White Dove", "Cherokee People". If it weren't for Hank Sr. and "Cawliga" there wouldn't be a decent one.
I myself was thinking more along a poetry bent:
Lizzie Warren had an axe...
it works...the original Lizzie was from Ma too.
Only the very poor, and the very rich can afford to be socialists.
@ Pogo
Howard Zinn was a mentor to Matt -- and I think Ben -- and, shades of BHO & Bill Ayers, lived in his neighborhood.
Prof. Althouse seems very confused to me. On the one hand, she is on record as saying that it would be better to have no law school at all, than to have a law school without affirmative action. Then she says that affirmative action is not about genealogy. Now it seems that two very prestigious law schools, Harvard and Penn, disagree with her interpretation of affirmative action. I think that next time, before trying to shut down a law school in the service of some cause, Prof. Althouse should find out what the cause actually means.
"Ben Affleck, Matt Damon to host Warren fundraiser."
They're on the wrong side of history.
Fool/money/soon parted
I feel like: There is no point. So why bother?
What I think: It's best to keep it to myself. Why waste it?
*shrug*
Hey, where does Garage stand on this issue? It ain't over 'til the Garage closes.
