That church always jogs the same terrible memory for me--the last time I was inside attending the memorial service for the wife of friend--she was murdered by a distraught psych patient.
I got a car ride from a friend today and upon arriving we couldn't find a parking spot.. suddenly he pulls into a spot with a handicap sign.. I tell him he cant park there.. but he still does and goes into his glove compartment and pulls out a handicap tag.. the ones that hang on the rearview mirror.. so we leave and comeback about an hour later to find a napkin on my friends car windshield that read like this..
"This handicap is for me. Please don't park anymore or I will have it ticketed
Thank you."
There is something funny going on with these handicap exeptions.
I can't tell if the roof is too big or the church is too small. Do they hand out free birth control? If not, they are the same as the taliban and might as well throw acid in the faces of young girls trying to go to school. It's the same thing, don't you know.
Here are some pictures and plans that show the relationship between that roof, the hill, and the inside of the church. It's quite beautiful and spacious.
There's a nursery school there that my sons attended in the 1980s.
The roof is called the Rogallo wing. Should a strong wind tear through the roof lifts off carrying the entire church dangling beneath it to set upon distant grounds with less destructive climates and weathers. <--contains at least 17% of fact.

No picnic today and you look absolutely frozen.
Too cold for skiing, I take it.
Ha! I guessed the architect before I scrolled down. No one likes a cantilever like FLW. He can't leave 'em alone.
They tore down almost all the interesting older buildings in my town years ago, and the newer ones are uniformly ugly.
What do Unitarians do at their services?
Oxymoron: Unitarian church.
The roof is.
Oh, the red masked bandit. Quick! Hide behind a tree.

The boy and I enjoyed the Free First Saturday at the Walker Art Center. Lifelike was a delight.
So was the youngster who loudly proclaimed his opinion during a video in the John Water's curated exhibit, Absentee Landlord.

The gym I go to has six handicap spots. They're not usually taken except when there's a Zumba class. Then they're all taken.
521 comments. Is that some kind of record?
Or is it just a record for a post that doesn't mention Sarah Palin?
The first photo.....Blair Witch Project?
The thing I remember about living in snow country is that I fell down a lot, and it hurt. Of course, I was drunk a lot back then, too.
The past few days before the tornadoes came through it's been in the low 70's. That's the kind of winter I can love.
A perfect fit!
Keeps her beautiful head beautiful and warm.
Lem. There just aren't enough handicapped people to go around.

Love the bandanna!
You should be throwing rocks through the windows at Starbucks!!
Just kidding!
You are far too intelligent for that. But, that is the costume!!

The place is called "the Meeting House."
Where I live is: the Meading House.
Yeah, the roof is too big. You give up on the trinity, havoc ensues. Here' a Church:

Is that a bank robber using the picnic point trail to make good her escape?
