That's tuna? It looks like a slice of dried apricot on top of a partially-dessicated zombie brain, surrounded by various multicolored ninja missiles. I made something like that out of legos once, but I didn't eat it.
Oh gawd! Yet another over the top tuna tartare. Tuna tartare is so insufferably in right now, enjoying an unjustified renaissance amongst the clueless and the unimaginative.
I'm too cool for school, that chef is thinking.
That chef needs to get a clue that the culinary world left him in the dust over two decades ago with his tuna tartare.
Is the tuna raw? I hope so. I'm odd in that I much prefer tuna raw to cooked. Actually, many fish I think are better raw (or "cooked" in acid like citrus juice) than cooked over heat.
I'm not mad about nouvelle cuisine type presentations, but the colors are lovely.
i had some fish baked on a cedar plank many years ago. it was the absolute worst meal of my life. the cedar taste got stuck in my mouth and didn't go away for days. nothing would get rid of it.

Almost as good as '92 Duke/UK, best game of the year so far. I thought the whistle interrupted the flow of the game too much. A lot of touch fouls called, with most going against IU to make a wide free throw margin. The calls were mostly true calls, but they were ticky tacky. I'm sure the IU fans are bitching about the free throws. If we had lost, I know I would have been.
For those that didn't see it, IU shot over 50% for the game, and scored 90 points, but still lost to UK by 12.
I was disappointed in our defense, but the offense was clicking. Did you see the light go on in Gilly's head in the first half? IU left him open on the right wing for a long 2, and the next possession they left him open in the exact same spot. He drove to the hoop for reverse layup. I knew he was going to go off on them at that point.
Where's I heart Willy? It would have learned a lot about basketball if it had watched that game. At least double its knowledge base, although twice zero is still zero.

Not yet, although I'm sure it's just another piece of humble pie GodZero would love to inflict upon us.
If it were happening, you'd see stories (only on the 'Net, of course) of black mobs dragging people from their cars and beating them in the name of Trayvon (he'd have morphed into their main man by then).
The people on the scene seem to be handling it pretty well, so it may be your imagination.
I hope you didn't pay too much for that. Was the wine good? 'cause that looks like shit.
Is Morino's still in New Berlin? You could get a 32 oz prime rib there on a Saturday night. A great big russet potato with half a pound of butter, and a teeny tiny cup of overcooked green beans. All for, like, nine bucks.
I like raw tuna but only if I know how fresh it is. Fish deterioriates quickly. When I fish in the bahamas for blackfins or yellow fins, you bring them to the boat, kill them immediately, gut them and bleed them out--pack the carcass with ice, inside and out, and put them in the fish box.
Then they can be filleted out but this whole process takes only a few hours. To my way of thinking, if your fish smells like fish, it isnt fresh. Caveat Emptor, sprigs of watercress not withstanding.
Rusty - Morino's is long gone, sorry to say. All the old steak joints have gone up-market now, so a decent cut, properly grilled, starts around twenty bucks, plus salad, soup, etc.
Whenever I see tuna I'm reminded of the time I stupidly tried thumb braking a spool with a sprinting tuna on the other end. It worked fine plenty of times with freshwater fish right? Big mistake! Took weeks to heal. I bet I have a different thumbprint after that.
Carnifex, I am surprised you even bring up that sad game with that other team (UK plus D and E)!
But do you remember the same spot in the tournament, 2002, when IU beat #1 ranked Duke by 1 point in Lexington? Some were saying that Indiana had a home court advantage (at Rupp!) because there were so many Hoosier fans, plus all of the UK fans cheering against Duke. THAT was a great game!
My granddaddy played baseball at UK. Kentuckians are such sweet midwestern Southerners. For a brief while, I went to college there, not at UK but at a small school. I love the way they say shower and power.

So, I just finished watching the chronically aggrieved Melissa Harris-Perry on MSNBC, talking about "Growing Up Black." Aside from being mildly black herself, she apparently and/or officially represents black intellectualism for the leftist network. And thus applying her superior intellectual skills, was interviewing three young black males about how horrible it is growing up black in America.
But the best one of her boys from the 'hood could come up with was being stopped twice by the cops when he was a teen. More, the apparently racist cops asked him where he was going. And that was the end of it. Still, a horrible experience, which gratified Ms. Perry greatly.
But while the young black man was relating the horrors of growing up black, I wondered how much more damaged he would be if he were me - because as a teenager growing up in NYC I was stopped, not twice in a lifetime, but twice a week. After all, most cops have nothing better to do.
Meanwhile, just yesterday the equally aggrieved Al Sharpton asked America, "What you think, we ig-nant (sic)?!!"
FWIW, my brother-in-law, who can look and sound like the reddest redneck you can imagine, was stopped and questioned by the cops in our town because he was driving a truck.
It can happen anywhere, and to anybody.
And I'd rather have the cops cautious.
But, if you look at this piece, linked in the sidebar here, nothing is what it seems in this bidness, as our Racial-Healer-In-Chief would put it.

Anytime Duke, IU, UL, KU, and UNC lose it's a good day. I used to include UCLA in that group but Howland's taking care of them all by himself.
I remember the IU/Duke game very well, I remember cheering for both to lose, I was only half disappointed when they didn't. The Duke/UK '92 game, it was a shame either team had to loose, of course I would prefer it had we won. Is that watercress? The nice thing about the early Spring here -- one of many -- is that watercress is out.
Unfortunately, it's not a cedar plank, but a charred and varnished pinewood side of a wooden Napa Valley vineyard wine case.
Around here, the health department would hit me for a critical violation for using a porous wood slab as a serving piece for raw fish.
