Speaking of technology.. with technology for the people.. not the children.
Anyway, a terrible thing has happened to my iTunes library.
While in the course of finetuning it.. iTunes crashed and reinstalled itself and started to look for music files as if for the first time.
I know what you are thinking .. what you been up to Lem?
But like Cain said today I'm at peace with myself.. (I'm not a peace with iTunes thats for sure)
I've lost all my playlists, (including the smart ones) all my song ratings, all my play count, all the songs that fell into disfavor are now all checked back on.
This is highly irregular.
I'm not going to be silenced.. I've started a complained dot com plan B with them Apples.
With Google Indoors, you could go to Juarez, take in a donkey show, contract a venereal disease, get slipped a "mickey", be robbed and beaten -- all from the comfort of your home!
I caught that too! Unless it is from one of the British dominion isles where they drive on the left, it would not seem to make sense. But the link says its Juarez so that can't be it.
Does the sign itself seem...focused funny? or rather just TOO focused? like it had been shopped? But why? And the shadow doesn't match the sign either.
We took "Poppy" to puppy school this morning, and the grass was so soaked that she didn't want to place her dainty paws on it. Fortunately, the class takes place indoors.
Shortly after we returned home, I took a two-hour nap.

Its a Google street view. They are always pretty distorted.
Actually, it IS pretty cool to take a Google walk. After a discussion the other day, I decided to Google walk around the old neighborhoods where I used to live in San Francisco in the early 1970's. Some areas look nicer and some haven't changed a bit.
I seen places like that around Puerto Vallarta, not so much Cancun.
Sad to hear it's so ghastly weather-wise in Madison. We'll get it starting tomorrow.

Poppy sounds like she's a Yorkie, not a poodle. Quasy is like that and so was B Treasure Dog before her.
A few years ago my wife and I were on vacation in San Antonio. As neither one of us had ever been in Mexico, we decided to drive to Laredo on the Mexican border, park in a municipal lot, and walk over the Rio Grande bridge into Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. We figured we'd spend a few hours "south of the border."
After 20 minutes we had more than enough of Mexico, thank you very much, and returned to Laredo. Such unspeakable filth and squalor!
Professor, have you linked over to 100 views out of airplane windows from Glenn Reynolds yet? Number 10 is of Madison (in the winter, apparently) and number 20 is of southern Wisconsin.
The stop sign made me laugh. We were on a vacation in Cozumel when are kids were little. Our son was adopted from Colombia and my bride and myself spoke some Spanish. However, as I drove our rented VW on a side street I did not see an upcoming Stop sign. My bride started yelling, "Alto, Alto" and I remenber saying to myself, "I'm not an alto." I stopped in time, but I'm sure I crossed the white line..making me a pariah in the professor's eyes.
I've never even visited Mexico so whaddaIknow, but Fred Reed who has expatriated himself to Chapala (a small city south of Guadalajara) for decades says it's a very pleasant low stress place to live, at least for an expatriate. And he's probably right.
I love Mexico and points south and the picture made me smile. There is nothing that makes me happier than cruising around the small towns in Mexico's interior. Border towns not so much but already the paint schemes are taking shape and the beer ads appearing on the sides of buildings. Everywhere you look in Mexico there is something extraordinary to take in. I expect i will Iive there or Central America someday.
Yeah Michael, I'm in complete agreement. Mexico is great. At least it was when I used to go there. What's happened now is so sad. I hope they can get their country back. I hitch hiked in central Mexico. Nicest people.
HT. I think there is a very low probability of a Gringo running into trouble but the security situation is indeed unnerving. I think the resorts are safe but that is not where i like to travel.
I have been going to El Salvador and Nicaragua instead, but there is a difference. Great places but not as remarkable as Mexico.

A Google grab..
Chokehold!!
ahh.. the good old days ;)
It's too hard to get photos this time of year in Madison. I decided to walk around somewhere via Google maps street view and take a screen shot.
Another typical liberal bullshit photo. The "STOP" sign says "ALTO". What the hell is that?
Why should we good conservatives be prodded to comment in a post that contains such anti-American... even terrorist... sentiment?
Really, Althouse, this is insulting! Stop posting the Mexican shit and get back to good ole' American stuff!
Wow.
What an attractive neighborhood. Nothing says ambiance like metal bars on all of the windows and garbage on the upper balcony.
It's very dreary here!
I haven't left the house. It's been raining. It seems to be clear now, but it's getting dark. It's 4:05.
"What an attractive neighborhood."
I thought it was cool-looking from here... at my desk in Madison, Wisconsin.

From here.. I can appreciate some of what (I'm guessing) some remnants of Spanish architecture.
Palladian might know.
Apparently, cars frequently leak oil in that street.
According to Google, "alto" translates to "high" in English. Could that building be a hashish den?
Does that STOP sign bother anyone?
It's either facing the wrong way, or it was posted on the wrong corner!
I haven't been there since the 60s. I remember it as more populated and dirtier.

Google Maps Goes Indoors
Just think of the possibilities.
With Google Indoors, you could go to Juarez, take in a donkey show, contract a venereal disease, get slipped a "mickey", be robbed and beaten -- all from the comfort of your home!
Abarrotes seems to be a Mexican word for bodega.

BTW.. cars leak oil on the street not in it. I should know that by now.

I have a video of our dog playing in the backyard. But Flick says its too long and wont allow me to upload it.
But like Cain, I'm at peace with myself.

I'm looking into free video editing..

Glad you got some rest. Get all you can.
PS Surprised Ann didn't mention Madison is one of the happiest cities in the country.
PPS Interesting story in the sidebar about Queen Victoria.

And here it is..
A few days after Irene I believe.
Our dog Pinto plays with tupperware.

Yes, today is bleak here. Ugh.
@big mike yeah, I saw that. V cool.

I took/have a picture of Everest taken from the plane we were on similar to what is out there.
Lem, Pinto is very cute.
Haha @ the sidebar ad "discover a forest, ask your parents to take you there".
Espically funny after watching the vanguard report about the narco terrorist funded marijuana camps out west.
