"The question is not whether but how will the student section at Camp Randall Stadium humiliate their Penn State foes?"

"I'm guessing they make a show of wearing shower caps and bath towels. Just a guess. I know that's gross and insensitive but so are those college kids, as were we at that age."

Yes, college kids are supposed to be gross and insensitive, and passionate without wisdom. They are supposed to protest necessary things in support of things they wouldn't want if they stopped to think about it. To experiment with dumb ideas and disrespect their betters. And one of the jobs of the administration is to create an atmosphere where they can be idiots without serious consequences.

Woe unto those who went through college without supporting something they are later embarrassed about. That "conservative at 20" chestnut is not an insult to 20 years olds, it's a statement about growing up.

This is one case where the "shame, shame, shame" chant would be appropriate. It would also be more likely to be picked up and broadcast by the ESPN sideline mics, er, mikes, than most other student actions.

The people who deserve the shame, shame, shame won't be there.

Are we supposed to feel sorry for the school that sheltered pedophiles?

If this is not an occasion for principled ridicule then there is no such thing.

AllenS કહ્યું...

Skyler, are you still in harms way?

અજ્ઞાત કહ્યું...

Please, play a game down in the swamp at LSU. They fricken throw batteries at the opposing student section.

I was wondering if they are are to amend the "Eat Sh*t", "F*ck You" with, "Sandusky".

I suggest the UW Marching Band serenades the Penn State team with, " You've Lost That loving Feeling."

I have a feeling the Althousians aren't thinking like 20 year olds - nowhere near gross enough.

I think those having difficulty trying to rhyme Sandusky will be given an education.

I'm guessing they make a show of wearing shower caps and bath towels.

He forgot the "Soap-on-a-Rope".

But it might be banned by the stadium.

Not because you can swing it like a weapon.

Rather, because the soap might get in the eyes of students and sting, like at UC Davis.

There are lots of songs with "touch me" in the lyrics

This issue is too serious to mock.

As Allen said, the guilty are gone. The players and fans will probably be subject to insults that are undeserved. Not that it will deter this institution of higher (cough)learning.

Skyler કહ્યું...

No, AllenS, I got home last month. Thanks for asking.

Didn't see much of this at the Ohio State/Penn State game last weekend. Pretty run-of-the-mill fandom.

I mean, OSU fans can be such notorious a-holes, too.

I want to believe that nothing is too serious to mock.
