I can't quite grasp that no one's pointed out yet that the guy is probably suing the FBI not because of his face being used, but because he is probably against the concept of assassination.

The way it probably played out was STate told the FBI that there was this connected Left-Wing idiot pol in Spain all upset and the FBI needed to make nice-nice.
FBI leadership rolled the shit downhill and picked some hapless agent in Europe having nothing to do with it to trundle over to Spain and meet with him.
And found the Spaniard to be a major league, anti-American, socialist asshole.
Who then delivered the obligated apology his bosses forced him into doing - which an obvious lack of sincerity.
Had Obama done the apology, the Spaniard would have been convinced of sincerity, and have been happy.
I thought that was Krugman.
