Commercial insecticide is often made from the exact same chemical that is in chrysanthemums. With the commercial stuff, however, you know exactly what strength you are getting.
I saw Billy the Exterminator catch an armadillo by mistake and it died from the sun (ironically in a Have-a-Heart trap). So he buried it in his cemetary for "mistakes."
I never watched the show again.
But maybe we can pitch in and have him show up here for J and Carol.
@Freeman: Interesting that pyrethrin comes from flowers and Kenya is the biggest producer.
Pyrethroids are synthetic analogs have many of the same properties as the natural product. I wonder if there is a political issue here: "organic" vs. synthetic. first world vs. third world.
In a court case sure to go down in history for one of the most bizarre rulings, a Wisconsin judge has held that American citizens do not have a "fundamental right to produce or consume foods of their choice." The decision was so shocking that the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund asked the judge to issue a clarification of the ruling.
We've got a cold front that's supposed to come through Florida this weekend. The low Sunday morning is predicted to be around 65 in Fort Myers. That will be the first low in the 60s in about five months. I'm looking forward to turning off the A/C and opening the windows up for some of that nice cool air.

Uffie dropped the ball. The Miami-born, Paris-dwelling rapper made a deep impact with 2006 debut single Pop the Glock, mangling her distinctive US-Gallic vowels around a cocky slab of electro that cemented a quick reputation for this brash new female MC and her producer (then-) boyfriend, Feadz. It should have been the start of something big for a fresh voice, but Uffie and Feadz kept things on the down-low, letting tracks seep out on blogs and under-promoting full singles. web designmarinejobs

Winter is coming. Wisconsin can be downright arctic.
I learned from Billy the Exterminator that ground up Chrysanthemum flowers make an excellent, environmentally safe insecticide due to pyrethrins.

Surprised not to see this as an Althouse thread:

"In a court case sure to go down in history for one of the most bizarre rulings...."
If you knew the history of the law of fundamental rights -- a subject I teach -- you would find that opinion quite routine.

As a homeschooling Mom of three high schoolers (soph, Jr. and Sr.) I don't really have time for this, but I sure am interested!

This reminds me of the shocking meat video.

Do you want to become my social secretary?
Moe: How do you spell "chrysanthemum"?
Larry: [thinks for a moment, looking confused]
Moe: Oh, ignorant, eh?
[slaps Larry, turns to Curley]
Moe: How do you spell it?
Curley: [very quickly] C-h-r-y-s-a-n-t-h-e-m-u-m.
Moe: [pause] Why weren't you here a minute ago?
[slaps Curley]
