"Cheer up, everyone! Meet our 'Poppy.'"

Congrats, Irene.
If the pup were any cuter, my head would explode.
Aw, bless.
Reminds me of Pogo's Pup, the li'l dog chile.
Wow! Poppy the puppy gets a posty!
Thanks everyone. She is painfully cute and sweet. She's also feisty and putting the boys in their new place. There's a bitch in the house.
She is the great neice of the boys (who are half brothers).
Sixty Grit, she's about six pounds at 8 weeks. She'll be a miniature poodle (17 to 20 pounds).
(niece)
Sixty, the nice thing about the miniatures is that they don't "counter surf," and you can pick them up when they get into trouble. They also have fewer problems with his dysplasia and bloat.
Oh good grief. "hip," not "his."
I am too excited by this post.
Poppy is cute but I want to see the rare clumber.
Sixty Grit, I had a cat that was a thirty pounder. He was declawed but that did not stop him taking on any dog that came into the yard. He just held his ground and punched them in the face when they sniffed. His complete lack of fear (and size) intimidated them.
And by far he was the best cat ever with children. Never got upset with them, other than occasionally retreating when the three year olds got too rough.
Titus, here is your chance to find out Sixty Grit is not going to off you. And that you can keep the rare clumber. Although if anything happens, my seven year old promises to feed him and brush him and take him for walks (and I know damn well if the rare clumber ever comes I will end up doing it).
So cute.
Is she more fav than me?
Titus, post a picture of the rare clumber.
Is Poppy more fav than you? Yes of course, she is a puppy.
I sent Althouse a pic of the rare clumber.
Oh, Irene, i have a black poodle/cocker mix who is the perfect combo. Never thought i liked poodles until we got our little Reggie. Cutest little guy - with just the right mix of naughty and nice :-)
marylynn, they are a nice breed. She just bit me (hard) on the nose when I corrected her, so right now, I am thinking "naughty."
So damned cute.

Ann, no post of the rare clumber picture?
Puppy love. The most tender love of all. And, it has nothing to do with kids jumping overboard for the "hunk" the see at recess.
Of course, puppies grow up. They treat us with respect. And, in exchange we feed them.
Food, in my house, NEVER goes to waste! The cats, however, are finicky.
The dogs wag their tails for everything. One even stands up and dances. So cute. Tucks his front paws down ... and dances like Fred Astaire.
You know, I read somewhere ... that if you let an animal sleep on your bed they think they're the boss. And, you're not.
This gives me joy, too. Mad at me? Talk to my owner. He doesn't give a woof.
Agree with Pogo, We have a blue standard (about 47 pounds)and an apricot toy (about 5.5 pounds). They are a joy. Hope you have many fine years together.
How many people remember when LBJ pulled up his shirt to show his new appendectomy scar. And, then put people into convulsions because he picked up his beagle by its ears.
When all I thought happened is that the dog was like a child. Where they purposely lift up their arms. So you can pick them up into the air.
LBJ was a lot of things. But I thought that he loved his dog.
RoBanJo, thank you! We now have three in the house.

I do! It was quite a big deal, as I recall.
Poppy is all dog.
By now she has bonded with her master that she will protect for life with her life if necessary.
I love dogs.
I love poodles! Intelligent and great companions. I'd love to have one but unfortunately the house is full (4 cats, 2 dogs).
