My parents took us to the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Ma. when we were little. This was before the town became famous for Alice's Restaurant.

I doubt that the "nipple" was intentional. If you're talking about the "bump" in the contour of the breast, I'd say that it's located a bit too off the center line and should be more medially located. That may just be an anatomical preference of mine.
It could just as well be that the artist had a mini-Winston's Hiccup while painting the wonderfully endowed lady.

What relationship does the Beatles album, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", have with the game of Bridge?
Sorry, it's kind of stupid, but it's a lesson in free association. I was talking to a friend about the album and he goes, "That reminds me, do you want to play some Bridge?" I was a little mystified and he explained the words "Hearts" and "Club" reminded him of a deck of cards, etc. He was always a little hard to have an easy to follow conversation with.
Nipple? I think not. It would be tough to live with an obvious pervert that sees nipples everywhere. Yet, it might be fun in a twisted Madison kind of way.
The woman in mauve is looking censoriously at the woman in red because
(1) The woman in red is showing a scandalous amount of skin -- remember that in that era (circa the turn of the last century) the sight of a "well turned" ankle was treated by men about the way we 21st century guys view a woman going topless.
(2) The woman in red is not wearing a corset, nor does she appear to have many (any?) petticoats on under her dress.
Items of clothing like bras and panties were still many years in the future, as was the notion of "sisterhood" and "solidarity."
So who do you love more: Your parents or your kids?

The Congressional Budget Office said it expects deficits in the next 10 years to total $3.5 trillion (PDF), significantly lower than the $6.7 trillion the federal agency forecasted in March.
About two-thirds of the reductions from the CBO's earlier projections come from enacting the Budget Control Act, which President Barack Obama signed into law this month. Specifically, this latest estimate accounts for certain policies specified in current law, including what the CBO called “sharp reductions in Medicare's payment rates for physicians' services” that are scheduled to take effect at the end of this calendar year.

You should view the lady in the "Spirit of Climax" which is in the general vicinity. Those erect pine trees behind the voluptuous maiden remind me of the mountains around Jackson Hole - the Grand Tetons. Must be lonely in the hinterlands.
That's not a nipple. That's a brick. I've seen nipples. I have two of my own - though they cannot be displayed in a pleasing fashion, being mounted on an insufficiently mounded surface.

Leadville ladies had some nice hooters back then.
A little wind caught under her skirt, as well. Plus, she's holding onto her hat. While the prim maiden by her left is unflustered.

Did Titus paint murals once? He might have needed an accountant to do his returns for all of his high income.
And all the pictures of Leadville have Clouds.
Been there. Missed that. She was built like a brick accountancy!
My parents took us to the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Ma. when we were little. This was before the town became famous for Alice's Restaurant.
Wrong thread..I'm almost as stupid as Carol Herman.
Casting a lure for the absent Titus?
Is that an aroused cloud in the background?
You didn't zoom in enough.
Wow! That woman's built like a brick shithouse!
wv: unclap - cure vereral disease
You would have to stop being literate in any language to be as stupid as Carol Herman.
Relax. A little free association never hurt anyone.
Question: What relationship does the Beatles album, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", have with the game of Bridge?
Gotta love the artist and his attention to detail.
Either that or some hormonal townie teen climbed up on a dare and painted it in.
Nipple snapper!
The women of pioneer Leadville: the stylish Western ingénue, the cautious grandmother, the sensible, new wife looking longingly back at youth, and the fertile, filly-maiden.
Is "motorboatable" a word?
Good luck, 60 Grit. You've just full of bile.
Leadville was tame.
In Dodge City, the hookers went skinny dipping with the cowboys.
PS The nipple is barely visible.
Now, if it was bare...

Off topic.
Obama administration once again seeks truth, justice and the American Way....
and unfortunately encourages higher health care costs.

Answer: Netither has been in my kitchen.

They're mostly played by old people?
So ... Did you take a ride on the Leadville choo choo?

Chip S: "They're mostly played by old people?"
Oh, snap!
If Titus were here he'd rename the mural "Ladies Surcame By Cumulus Clouds In Loadville"
As a gritty mining town, Leadville had illegal-but-open prostitution until the mid-1960s. Locals will point out the buildings that were brothers.
But, alas, the Ram Bar (which everyone knew to stand for "Raggedy-Ass Miner" is gone.
Nipple? I think not. It would be tough to live with an obvious pervert that sees nipples everywhere. Yet, it might be fun in a twisted Madison kind of way.
I just want to observe that the Professor has been blogging up a storm today. Great stuff on all kinds of topics! Thanks for the mammaries.
Tough to live with Meade? Are you kidding?!!!

Why the sexy mural for the accountant?
Who painted a mural of my great-grandmother?
But we could improve our budget if we cut grandma's benefits

"course you may be tad skeptical of CBO by now.)
Its not a nipple, its a plume of material.
Honestly if Meade sees a nipple there, then I submit that...
Never mind.

Generous casino manager.
While of course nothing can be seen in the pictures, back then all women were of the full-flavor variety. Bon appetit!
Peter
I spent twenty damn minutes on a nipple hunt.
Oh, another comment about the Leadville poster. I note the lady in mourning lowest and the presumed prostitute is highest.
Artistic commentary?
(Or is it that the middle lady must choose between the "higher" life of a whore or the inevitable widowhood of the wife of a miner?)
Hey, isn't that chick in red Amanda Marcotte?
Robert.
You really know how to spike a thread, don't you!!!
wv - mumbar
Shut up and drink.
"... a plume of material."
Hahahaha!
You're right DT!
I just wanna know if they used lead paint.
The mural has a certain incongruity in that one would not associate women dressed as such in the terrain depicted.
The volcanoes in the background :) are clearly spewing a lot of pyroclastic material... a 'bad hat day' by any measure.

“sharp reductions in Medicare's payment rates for physicians' services” that are scheduled to take effect at the end of this calendar year."
LOL. Physicians will stop taking Medicare patients and hospitals will close.
Does anybody have any tasty Chaney Book morsels to share?
I would like to know Chaney's version of the Valery Plame brouhaha.
Brickwall porn. You gotta love tits.
I wonder if there's a Leadfrombehindville somewhere in Illinois.
That's my brother!!!

Maybe jealously.
