Sigh.

I've had enough desert.

Where is your White River, Ann?

Mine is in Indianapolis, and my late wife and I lived on its banks for 35 years. We lived in the only house we ever wanted to own--old, small, pretty. I miss it. I miss her.

So...

this is how you spent The Blonde's birthday.

Excellent choice, Madame, and gorgeous pics.

You look good, too.

It's been raining a ton in Colorado this summer! A lot more than normal. Everything is so green and beautiful.

Vail in the winter is pretty darn good, in the summer it's fantabulous. The second photo looks like the area (Camp Hale) where the 10th Mountain Division trained during WWII.

My first thought was playing hold em on my phone while a bear starts eating my legs.

I hope you have something more than a cell phone in case you run into a four legged critter, or even a two legged one, bent on making your life violent and short.

We almost went there this summer. I prefer national forest lands over national parks for backpacking - you can pretty much hike and camp any where you want.
