I had a dream last night about the Madison Capitol building. I dreamed that it was surrounded by a scattering of tourists who couldn't get inside because it was closed. There was a large empty plaza around the building, where there were four massive bronze sculptures of the angels of the Apocalypse. One of the sculptures was mechanical and articulated in strange and terrible ways, and twisted and stooped itself to menace the people in the plaza.
In the second photo, the Hovde Building on the right. Well, at least what used to be called the Hovde Building. Built in 1928 for the entity that became Wisconsin Power and Light Company. In those days the utility also operated an intercity bus line which had a terminal in the lower levels of the building (further down Fairchild Street - in the mid-ground of the photo.)
