UPDATE: Seriously, people—if anybody comes across an attempt at justifying the panty-sniffing, I’d like to see it. As far as I’m aware, nobody’s even trying. The conventional wisdom on the left is that Sarah Palin has absolutely no chance of being elected president and is far more likely to serve as a spoiler for someone like Rigel. In other words, the more popular Palin is, the more likely Obama is to be reelected. Which explains why it’s so crucially important for “progressives” to scrutinize every scrap of email from Alaska in order to discredit her even further…uh, no, wait. Oops.
"Palin emails show her eyeing VP slot in summer '08"
Which is basically all revealing how entirely sad the news companies are these days.
On the other hand, it's quite helpful for those of us who like Palin. Like with Bush, Palin shows that she's really the same in private as she is in public. What you see is what you get.
With this obsession over Palin it also means that there's almost no likelihood at all she's going to have some kind of surprising scandal or background issue. And because she already knows the ways she is going to be attacked, she knows how to forge good defense strategies. Which makes her a possibly very strong candidate.
One really strong debate and her numbers could easily turn around, as it is quite clear if someone is stupid and/or ignorant of global/national affairs.
I'm not at all willing to say she's the best candidate. Perry from Texas seems like if he jumps in, he could take the lead pretty quick. But, I would say that the nomination is hers to lose. If she steps up her game, masters the issues, has good responses (and her driving the national debate from Facebook shows she can), then she could leave the others in the dust.
I never really imagined we'd see the day in which Warner Brothers cartoons became known as prescient political commentary, but that day has come. No matter what schemes are devised to destroy her - scandals, frivolous ethics charges, blood libel, the email release, Acme anvils being dropped from canyon tops, fake tunnels being painted on mountainsides, she just Meep-Meeps at them and runs on past as their schemes backfire and expose the schemers for the fools they are. It's magnificent.
"Crivella West Incorporated, an advanced analytics and investigational research company, announced that James Pfeifer, a 7th grade student at Jefferson Middle School in Mount Lebanon, received the first box of Sarah Palin emails released today by the State of Alaska in Juneau, Alaska. James, brother of Joseph and Lauren, is the son of Debra Pfeifer and Greg Pfeifer.
Legal Insurrection has a round-up of headlines, LMAO!
But this 1? WHAAA???
•Detroit News - Palin emails rarely mention Michigan, search shows: "Michigan, Detroit or its political figures rarely were the topic of discussion for former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, a search of the emails sent before she was tapped by Sen. John McCain to be his running mate reveals."
The release here of Ms. Palin’s e-mails — which are sprinkled with mentions of God and Palinisms like “flippin” as a G-rated exclamation — were an extraordinary event in their own right, providing the sort of intimate look into a governor’s day-to-day interactions that is rarely available to the public. But the intense media coverage of the e-mails was also criticized by Ms. Palin’s supporters as overzealous.
How meta. Its not the emails its the Palinite reaction to the review of the e-mails.
I think the issue here is too many media outlets feel compelled to write the word Palin. Its what words to write after that's so challenging.
In other words, the more popular Palin is, the more likely Obama is to be reelected. Which explains why it’s so crucially important for “progressives” to scrutinize every scrap of email from Alaska in order to discredit her even further…uh, no, wait. Oops.
Love it. Not Palin but the absurd reactions she generates in leftists.
The mediaswine try desperately to legitimize their harassment of Palin by portraying it as human interest material.
They are, of course, biding their time while awaiting similar disclosures of Oblahblah emails from the Illinois and US Senates. lol
Or, as I said many years ago during a radio interview, the National Enquirer is a newspaper, the [insert name of newspaper of choice] just doesn't recognize it yet.
It's just pathetic, risible even. I've watched as the Times have increasingly pointed themselves into an ideological corner, 1st the hope and promise of freedom, then gradually following that logic where it leads, ever decreasing circles of exclusion, certainty mixed with fear and dread, name-calling, lashing out, purity tests...
...and yet they don't see at all just how much they've contributed to Palin's success..their idiocy and ideological rigidity and childish behavior fuels the aggrieved sense that most Palin supporters have against that idiocy, regardless of her merit.
Just go to the White House blog, and watch Obama's green team, or dig through the archives and realize just who is running things and why, or dig around and see the disconnect between the lofty speeches and the policies and political reality and form your own opinion. I'm forming mine day by day, and humbly, I submit they seem like incompetents, economic illiterates, foreign policy idealists and ideologues, and simply will do much more harm than good.
The Guardian coverage is quite funny. They don't seem to be familiar with how U.S. evangelicals speak. (Palin asked God for guidance about the budget--the horror!)
The e-mails certainly contain words that, when strung together, reveal the truth. After finding these words, we will see that there are letters that can be combined to spell out truly horrible things.
I want to know if there were emails about my blog when I started promoting her potential candidacy in June 2008, two months before she was picked. Pure selfish curiosity on my part.
Once again, not in my lifetime has any political figure that I know of been so scrutinized and demonized as this woman. It's an amazing and embarrassing thing to watch how leftards and even some conservatives wish ill of this woman and her family. Hey, how did Todd Palin's infidelity accusations turn out as reported by the enquirer, hmmm? I'm sure little miss sullivan has the smoking gun somewhere.

That is not true. They found several spelling errors and grammatical mistakes. Also a lot of unnecessary chit-chat.
Give 'em a couple days, they'll make something up.
Boy Revenant and Seven Machos must be real disappointed.
Better luck next time.
Palin - 143 MSM - 0
They'll never learn.
Dr. Violet Socks opines on maybe they are picking on Palin.
You think? Great name though.

Let the MSM-left backfire begin.
Sarah Palin is now bulletproof and apparently unstoppable now.
This email dump feeding frenzy puts the last nail in the MSM coffin and has strengthened the juggernaut that the left alone has created.
Prepare to be eaten lefties.
Wow... not even an F-bomb or a racist joke?
Its like when Geraldo opened Al Capone's vault and found it empty.

Garage probably hit the bar early this morning.
Well, OK then. Since they can't find anything, that's proof that she's hiding something!

Hopefully, Weiner will be the cure.
(PS And no emails disparaging Mormons.)

You just knew, when they solicited the Kos Kids to scan this stuff, how lame an effort it was going to be.
Tell me again how much smarter the Lefties are than her.

Dime con quien andas, y te digo quien eres.
"...a Glimpse From Inside Palin’s Rise"
This may be what NYT meant by that headline. Who bought them? The RNC? Walmart?!!
The public needs to know. They should not give up until they've gone through all 24,000 emails.

Yeah, I can see him in the bar watching the news for a Palin mistake, and then seeing none, hitting his head on the bar. Over and over...
"Yeah, I can see him in the bar watching the news for a Palin mistake"
Are you kidding me? She never gave Michigan any thought while she was Governor of Alaska. Her career is now ruined!

By far, my favorite was the CNN reporter who had to give us the bad news.
Watch his face. *Classic*
CNN "pubic" typo. Heh.

I suppose a FOIC request is a FOIC request.
So why aren't we getting all of Obama's Illinois Senatorial years emails?

Poor State Senator Obama was so swamped by work, that he didn't bother saving his work--even though it was relatively easy to do so.
He's always worked hard for the people.
