I'll be starting my vegetable garden next weekend. You'd be surprised how much I can pump out of my garden, which is at about 800 feet elevation.
Myrna trucked in a ton of topsoil and built two foot high raised beds. I'll have fresh lettuce in about six weeks.

It's hard to imagine what other news would be worth such an announcement -- combined with the suddenness of the announcement, and the fact that there doesn't seem to be other buzz out there.

One more point - so, from 2001 to 1/2009, all I ever heard from the left side of the aisle was - if you look sideways at an Arab, anywhere in the world, they have a reason to want to hunt us down and slaughter us in the street. OTOH, it gives The Won an excuse to cut-and-run in Afghanistan. "Hey, we got the bad guy, let's hold a parade for me and get the hell out."
(And yes, there will be a lot of high fives tomorrow and good fellowship, and I can't say that it's wrong. But at this point it will be shallow, and the next crisis Obama faces will erase the good feeling from memory. "Dead Cat Bounce" is the right term.)
