Bad journalism. Exhaled smoke will not increase carbon dioxide levels -- they decreased when the plant grew.

Unless the pot being smoked is fossilized.

The lady from whom I bought my house had a small growing system in the crawl space, basically a couple of three foot long shop lights with grow light bulbs in them. I took them out to avoid any suspicion on me since I don't live in California.

Maybe so, but this shit is so easy to grow and so cheap to grow worrying about maximum bud/THC production is ludicrous. Just take a couple of extra puffs.

I'm usually a big fan of defending the principle over a compromise, but if everyone was allowed to grow a reasonable amount (10-20 plants), whether inside or out, it would solve half the problem. You'd still have the crime and "gateway" issues, with people stealing from growers, 12-year olds smoking, etc, but it would be a start. I endorse any State's move in that direction.

While that's true, it isn't worth the effort -- in exchange for not needing as much land, you spend a LOT more on electricity. People would grow it in greenhouses, but grow lights aren't economical.

Lots of people grow it outdoors. That's why it is not a good idea to go hiking in Humboldt County. If the dogs don't get you, the guns will.

First, potheads vs. global warmists is a battle royal I'd like to see happen.

Second (regarding Michael K's comment on dogs and guns) yep. I used to work with those guys and guns were everywhere. I got invited to play private shows for them and, along with a great fee, they'd give everyone in the band at least an ounce.

Working up there was a trip: everyone - and I mean everyone, even kids - would have these gigantic rolls of bills, but they were all hundreds, so no one could break a twenty. It started off as funny but, over time, became a real frustration.

They deserted me, ruthlessly, when I came out as a Republican.

GOTCHA FAIL. First I LOLed ... then I facepalmed.

Lighting has seen the best improvement in efficiency of any retail electricity-based tech: LED lighting is close to 100% conversion of power to light. Plants take in CO2 & fix carbon - yes, even "The Devil Weed."

Global Warming is a fraud.

I'm sure the Inuit will be absolutely delighted to learn this wonderful news ... please feel free to go up north & tell them so in person.

Thermal satellite mapping doesn't have an agenda, & it tells a much less comforting story - North America is the only sizeable region on the planet that's undergoing cooling now: enjoy it while you still can, because I kind of doubt it's going to last.

Albedo doesn't have an agenda either: glaciers & the Arctic icecap are white, rocks, soil & open sea are dark ... & positive feedback is a bitch.
