Gov. Walker's Twitter feed reminds me of "Jim's Journal."

It finally hit me when I read the governor's most recent tweet: "Haircut then went out w/Alex who is driving (he is doing well)."

It's like "Jim's Journal"! Remember "Jim's Journal"? "I Made Some Brownies and they were pretty good."

"Jim's Journal" was Scott Dikkers (the founding editor of The Onion) from back before The Onion got started... here in Madison, Wisconsin.

This conservative doesn't get why he actually enjoys reading the Twitter feeds of people of all political stripes as long as it's about personal stuff. Liberals can make me really mad. But I frankly love Ellen DeGeneres tweets when they are not about same sex marriage referendums, et al.

I wonder if any of our liberal friends can say the same about conservative Tweeters.

Jim's Journal?

Sounds more like Titus.

(you don't...)

I wouldn't mind feeding on his twitter.

Jim's Journal was gold. So was Plebes.

Sounds like Garrison Keillor from many moons ago when he had a morning show and used to read the Northland News on the air.

Jim's Journal was great.

I think the Scott Walker twitter feeds are excellent and do bring insight into him despite the pedestrian nature. They also have to drive the left batty because he doesn't share "feelings" nor appear rattled by all their antics the past two months.

My recent favorite was when he tweeted something like "grilling brats tonight w/family...tasty"

No, because they can't see any humanity in conservatives. We are all lizard-like creatures to be despised around the clock. Once you've dehumanized a whole class of people, it's easy to dismiss them entirely.

I think "Pearls Before Swine" owes a great deal to Dikker's comic style.

It reminds me of reading my wife's diaries after she left:

At the beginning of our marriage, they started out like this: all mundane - observations, to-do lists, etc. - but then, about halfway through, they morphed into this insanity.

At this point, I'd read Scott Walker's just to keep an eye on his mental state.

I'm sure Garage will be by to demonstrate how this proves Walker is the eeevillest governor, like, ever.

In a few years, we'll be treated to a bad HBO show called, "Sh*t my governor Dad tweets".

Oh, did he? Awesome! It reminds me of the whole puppies in a blender joke about Insty.

Chase, I agree about Ellen DeGeneres. She's gifted with lightning quick wit, and usually not at anyone's expense.

vbspurs বলেছেন...

Ellen's comedy specials are practically family fare. She talks about people observing others who stumble in the street, about why eggs and lightbulbs come in flimsy packages, about those long, winding 70s cords telephones used to have (in that puke green colour!).

Have never watched her talk show, but I do like her comedy skits.

Alex, the lizards at "Little Green Footballs" are gonna get you for that!

Somehow I suspect they would see that as mistaking the elephant for the donkey.

Crack:

"I understand and I wish to continue."

Is there no way to stop them?

Plus, usually when I wish to continue, it's when I don't understand.

Blessings.

I only read the twitter feeds on Wispolitics, and while Walker's tweets are a bit cheesy, anything is better than Larsen's, "We will not allow this to stand!" bullshit.

Read the Althouse blog. It was pretty good.

Jim's Journal was awesome.

That is all.
