Some great wit here. I almost LOL'd a few times. OK I COL'd (chuckled out loud) at the Michael Moore defecatory output comment from Kent. Overall, I'm really, really kinda sad that these people are acting this way and that there's such a huge gap between what people (Dems/Libs) say they want in behavior and how they themselves act. It's just head-shakingly amazing. Indeed, I wonder if these images will be fron and center as "Decision 2012" gears up or if we'll be treated to more speculative blather about the Tea Party. -sigh-

He quickly called for reinforcements but said they were not enough to handle the 5,000 to 8,000 demonstrators, some of whom came in through the windows and swarmed through a pair of unlocked doors at the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard entrance."

God that's funny. When did this place become a conservative blog? People who come here thinking that that's what they're looking at have obviously never visited a real conservative like Hugh Hewitt. Their freaking heads would explode if they went over there.
All of this lovely banter aside. I want to know what steps the legislature is prepared to take to protect the students and teachers who did not go along with the protests. There is no way in hell my kid would ever go back to one of these "schools."
Having witnessed the total lack of professionalism, or even simple reasoning skills, of the union members involved in this protest there is no way you can convince me that there will not be reprisals. That is what unions do when they lose.
Also, this can't be over until every teacher that walked off the job is terminated and the doctors who gave out excuses like candy lose their licenses. You can protest all you want but you can't do it on the public dime or by abandoning your charges. You can't rabble rouse in the classroom and agitate for the kids to take your side as I am certain was done.
Precedents are being set. But more importantly people can't get away with committing offenses up to and including fraud simply because they have gamed the system. None of these people are irreplaceable and they certainly shouldn't be above the law.
@Chris POOP SELLS! It is part of the reason why althouse.blogspot.com has an Alexa Traffic Rank in US of 6,357, and a flaming liberal turd of a site such as thedailypage.com sits at 12,201.
"Is it real? If so, what is he going to do with it when the protest ends? "
Sandwiches. Dignified sandwiches.
WV: bakers: the bakers are busy getting the bread ready for dignified poop sandwiches. We're all going to have to take a bite, so stock up on the bacon.
Chris, I know you likely have been raised to think it's all about you. But it's not.
See, conservative ideas start with the fact that you cannot demand from the rest of us what most suits your particular interests. You can't demand, for instance, that Althouse shape her blog to fit what you wanted out of her blog.
And you cannot expect people to cater to your whims and fancies and biases. If you came to learn about conservative ideas, I suggest that National Review Online is probably a better source for that.
Hereabouts, it's more like a cafe where people just talk about what they want and post what they want.
But I don't think you care about learning about conservative ideas. I think you like to make yourself feel all adult and mature by scolding people, handing out demerits, and such.
But, no one likes a school marm.
Especially one that brings their own definition on what is expected, then demands everyone live up to such rules.
I came to this website to learn more about conservative views.
What I've seen are photographs of piles of shit, whining about tape, petty complaints, and a whole lot of uninformed and self-righteous nonsense.
This website is a commentary on what conservativism is about.
You realize that, don't you?
Given the lack of dignity in so many of your comments, it seems that you (and Althouse) don't.
We talk about what is presented before us, retard. In the words of Jeremy, DUH!!!
So what, you expected puppies and birthday cakes to show up in the pictures? This is what is happening in Wisconsin at the moment. If you really cared about learning about conservative ideas, then clearly this isn't the place for you.
Ann and Meade have been covering the Capitol Follies far better than the MSM. And with this photo, they've earned not only our gratitude but the highest prize in Journalism: the Poo-litzer.
OK, I will. I expect a lot of comments to be pretty silly, and I enjoy a good laugh as much as anyone.
I don't think that belittling the protestors is going to solve what ails Wisconsin, though.
And I believe that what the legislature has done is not going to help much either.
We'll see, right?
Thanks to everyone who made lively remarks.
And if you are a conservative (allegedly) and you don't think what the governor/legislature did was going to help Wisconsin, then please, by all means, tell us what will? We are all eyes and ears.
Just look at the picture in its original size. I didn't realize the guy was carrying a lit cigarette next to that steaming pile of poo. I think that is a bomb in the making.
Freeman Hunt said... Is it real? If so, what is he going to do with it when the protest ends?
A shirtless Meade could till it into the grounds surrounding stately Meadehouse Manor. Althouse could video him and post it, causing her female audience to swoon.
I’m a little surprised that with all of the concerns about public health that there isn’t some statute or ordinance in Wisconsin or Madison that prohibits transporting such a large quantity of unsecured animal waste on a public sidewalk. Or maybe there is and the same “safety” officials who are charged with its enforcement and exempted from the collective bargaining changes are looking the other way.
I was wrong. First time this year. I looked at the raw image on Flicker and thats plaster shit. Now I can't tell you the paint isn't shit based, but if you look at the bottom you can see the plaster or paper mache
I’m a little surprised that with all of the concerns about public health that there isn’t some statute or ordinance in Wisconsin or Madison that prohibits transporting such a large quantity of unsecured animal waste on a public sidewalk.
Since James Taranto's not around, it falls to me to say it: "With DNC protests in mind, city bans carrying urine, feces."
When Meade and Ann started out covering this awol Dem senator fiasco, it was obvious that they were a bit unsure of what to do (remember Ann's comments that she got drafted into covering this and that she is a pussy (her words, not mine))?
They figured it out as they went and ended up making this enormous contribution to the country in understanding what was really going on.
Congratulations for a job well done and demonstrating that OJT sometimes works out well.
Chris said...I came to this website to learn more about conservative views.
If so, you lucked out by accident, but not necessarily for a locus of strict conservatism. This is an excellent site to learn about a diversity of opinions and values. Not all are "conservative" and not all are "liberal." It's not a cookie cutter kind of place. It's what "makes it" IMO. I've lurked for years, and commented infrequently ... and don't regret it a bit.
I hate to have to say this, but as an equine attendant for years in my youth, I can confidently say that the drill sgt. don't know shit. No hayburner produces shit like that.
If anything, that is omnivore or carnivore shit.
If you want to come to grips with the subject matter, here's an audio-visual aid:
This website is a commentary on what conservativism is about.
You realize that, don't you?
Chris, your comments over the past few weeks have focused on trying to get everyone here to change into what you want this blog to be. That is a perfect illustration of what nanny state liberalism is about.
I think Drill is right. In addition to the papier mache, a tip off is the symmetry and remarkable consistency of the pile. Any respectable dung shoveler knows that containers for the stuff need sides. This should be a truth in advertising violation.
WV tortini -- what was committed on Meade severa; days ago.
Please tell me this bozo with the cart-crap isn't a Teacher. Not that I'd expect any Wisconsin teacher to admit to their profession after Iowahawk displayed their utter failure relative to their Texan counterparts. Whether the failure of Wisconsin Teachers to effectively educate African-Americans is an official Wisconsin policy or a by-product of their overall low standards is a question that should be extensively investigated. Jesse Jackson is already on the scene, so the process should get a jump-start.
Chris, the defensive, Glenn Beckish responses are to be expected. They blame their stereotyping and fascination with negativity on the opposition, you see.
And how fitting, seeing as how just before Beck's recent and most damaging debacle, Bill Maher presciently described the guy as being close to playing with his poop.
These cons here, well, they're still just at the stage where they're fascinated by the poop that others brought on display. But not too far off from where Beck metaphorically went, now. The backslapping, Islamist-style trimphalism they've consistently displayed tells you just how close to the edge they've gotten.
You recognize, don't you, that by focusing on, and amplifying, the silliest aspects of the protests at the capitol, you yourself look small and silly.
Our nation is currently locked in a death-rattle struggle between two ideologically opposing sides. To that end, they will point out anything which makes the other side look foolhardy or better yet, deranged, to the greater American public. This, in turn, they believe will score massive points with dispassionate neutrals, turning them more towards their side than to the opposition's, and latterly, helping them to win the political day.
Everyone knows the score.
So what's your beef again? You're sore it's your side being shown as immature and hyper-partisan?
Does the content selection here really reflect on the other side (whose position, mind you, still has more and even growing support)? We are, after all, talking about a blog that was obsessed with bathrooms and even featured a "citizen-journalist" nearly catching himself in a Larry Craig moment after banging on an occupied men's room stall.
The difference between this photo and that of a Tea Party rally's photo, is that a steaming pile of manure bearing signage identifying it as being a particular politician is buried in some obscure blog (sorry Ann) who about 30,000 people will get to see.
If it were, oh I dunno, say a steaming pile of manure identifying it as Barack Obama, it would make the front page of every "paper of record" in the known world, with readership numbering in the millions, fingerpointing it as "typical behaviour" of that political group, followed by wailing calls for civility and censure.
That, my friends (pace John McCain) is the difference between the Wisconsin protest coverage, to date, and that accorded to the Tea Party movement.
Ah, thanks, Pogo. I figgered as much. The disaffected never seem to go away on this blog. They just creepily show up in the word verifications, somehow.
Death rattle? That reminds me of the fight to the death scene in The Deep which also starred Jacqueline Bissett. Those are the only two things I remember about that movie btw- Bissett and the two big dudes fighting.
Must be a student, can't be a unionist or there would be one guy leading with a flashing light and "Slow ! Wide Load" sign, one guy waving pedestrian traffic through, one guy following with a flashing light and "No Passing" sign and a supervisor in a $40k pickup eating donuts.
Oh wait..that's Caltrans. Sorry, same union horseshit, different state.
You would think that a physician as passionate(?) as Pogo would have a better opinion of proper dental hygiene, but apparently he assumes that would be a sore spot for a Brit like his friend Vicky.
Chris, the defensive, Glenn Beckish responses are to be expected. They blame their stereotyping and fascination with negativity on the opposition, you see.

Hey look everyone, the shit on the cart is back here to post.
Geez Methy-Head Baby Rattle (the inspiration for Vicky's phrasing?). Don't you have some terrorist training camp videos to admire?
Oh you mean the ones that show Wisconsinite public employee union member gearing up for their next wave of jihad, uh, I mean protests? Yeah, been watching them here all day.

Ahhh... confusing free speech with religious compulsion. Methy Baby Head shows his true colors and perhaps ponders whether he will resort to beheading anyone who says anything bad about conservatives.
I've tried to link to a funny-maybe-not-really poo pic in Engrish twice, without it showing up -- boy are my HTML skills rusty. Sorry guys. Here is the linky.
Are you posing as a psychiatrist, Pogo? You know, for someone who gives his IRL e-mail address away in the Blogger profile, you sure like to make a point of advertising your unhealthy obsessions with me.
Ahhh... confusing free speech with religious compulsion. Methy Baby Head shows his true colors and perhaps ponders whether he will resort to beheading anyone who says anything bad about conservatives.
Do you just make shit up as you go along or do you have to ask the guy who was pulling your cart for permission to come here? I'm sure there is a Titus joke in there somewhere where you pay him a $100 and ask him to eat more cheese for consistency so you can look like the picture in your cart.
I'm sure there is a Titus joke in there somewhere where you pay him a $100 and ask him to eat more cheese for consistency so you can look like the picture in your cart.
Is there an alternative universe in which this sentence would make sense?
Anyway, sorry for raining on the poop parade. You guys are way too crazy for me today and more interesting plans beckon. But it was fun while it lasted. Toodles! ;-0 (Or, in honor of vbspurs' return, should I say "Cheerio") ;-0
I think there are still many commenters around from years past. Even Ron shows up from time to time.
Ron I've always seen here, whenever I lurked in times past. It was the sight of our Simon that startled me, and that of knockout Darcy.
And I'm very glad.
I saw you midnight tweeting some Carnival in Rio. Did it get rained out?
It POURED, and the "arquibancadas" got direct lightning strikes -- but Thor the god of Lightning is no match for the ebullience of the Carioca crowd at carnival.
BTW, my fave samba school, Beija-Flor, won it again this year. Yay. :)
Trooper's a good guy. He also has a fertile mind. The combination is irresistible to those addicted to shooting down (up?) bad comments as if they were internet crack.
A shirtless Meade could till it into the grounds surrounding stately Meadehouse Manor. Althouse could video him and post it, causing her female audience to swoon.
Thanks for the kind words. But the reason it is diferent is we tend to cut each other more of a break. And I don't really do politics. So we can talk about things we agree on:
I am 100% sure this idea came straight from Obama! It's probably in his little community organizer book he keeps under his pillow. When all else fails wheel in the shit!
Chris: I came to this website to learn more about conservative views.
Bullshit. You came here angry that Althouse has caught the Union Brat antics on video. And you actually thought an appeal to conformity ("you, a law professor") would get her to lighten her coverage.
You're transparent. And stupid. Go fuck yourself, Libtard.
I will mention that it is a pity that this blog has abandoned American Idol which the reason I first began to comment here.
Too much politics can turn you into a pile of shit....or something.
You know how I found this blog? Boobs and not the leftards here either. It was Ann's anger at the boob girl posing with Clinton. Her ire was fascinating to watch because it, from my point of view at that time, came out of nowhere. Then once I landed at this blog, I thought I'd hang out and say hello. Still saying hello.
Wow, I was on Blogger when it was almost unique among blogging platforms and still owned by its founding company, Pyra.
The sad part is that almost NOTHING about it has changed since then. Once Google acquires something it tends to squeeze it under its fat ass and forget about it. It's almost laughable how antiquated and unmaintained Blogger is today and yet it's still operational, like someone using a Nash Rambler as a daily commuter car.
To be fair, I think a few people who still comment today preceded me, such as chuck b, XWL, and of course the oldest commenter ever, vbspurs.
I still have electronic copies of a brief email exchange I had with Althouse in the fall of 2004 (I'm sure she has no recollection). Like you, I found Althouse through InstaPundit. I must have read her then but I didn't start commenting until 2006 or so. And then not regularly until a couple years later.
Same with me. Also in Fall 2004, I think. I was really into that election and found all sorts of places to read more and more. I think I took a break from blog reading after the election, but I have no memory of how long.
I'm also not at all sure when I started commenting regularly. I tried to look in old posts, but it seems like there aren't any comments from early 2005 or all of 2004 left posted. Not sure what happened to them all. Did Althouse have a comment blackout for a while?

Cute. The Obama team is working overtime to produce these visuals for us. They might not be as happy with them in 2012.

I'm so glad the sturm and dung is over with.

Exactly: I see a big pile of bullshit and I think Obama 2012.
See this is the kind of shit that happens when you allow a state to go so far down the black hole of liberalism
Look! A shovel ready project.
The pile of shit that this has created will create fertilizer for the rest of the nation.
Don't worry the President is on top of everything right now, phew!
"I was bullied for my big ears"
Ah, modern art. I guess he is saying Walker is like the Virgin Mary. There's even a transgressive sex theme in there.
Horse shit, and that's what that pile is (for you city types) is excellent, though a bit smelly, as a sidewalk anti-icing agent :)
Some great wit here. I almost LOL'd a few times. OK I COL'd (chuckled out loud) at the Michael Moore defecatory output comment from Kent. This pile is what's left over after Walker had the Democrats for breakfast.
Oh yea.. I see here what NPR's Shiller meant..
Liberals are so much more intelligent...
Scatological.. wow.. how brilliant.
So, the best they can do is figuratively stamp their feet and call Walker a "poopy-head".
Yep, that's about the level of liberal discourse these days...
Funny. Clever invective is rare.
Wow, snother demonstration of their intellectual superiority.

It’s the New Civility….that and the Death Threats.
Bravo Kent.
Thanks for the laugh.
"Everybody wants to take a photo of a man wheeling the large pile of shit that has a "Hello My Name Is Scott Walker" sign stuck in it."
Um, he really ought to have a sign that says, "Hello My Name Is NPR" because they're now in the crapper.
Civility bullshit made flesh.
Another expression of the fierce moral urgency of civility.
Let the unhinging of leftards commence. Oh wait.

Classy as ever!
I wonder what Taranto is gonna say about that? (not really, I've got a fair guess)
There was another Democrat talking about lighting up his garbage barge-some crap like that.
And that if you set it on fire it still smells.
I swear half the Dem legislature might be trolls here.

This is the finest post that I have ever seen on a pile of shit.

What a sad point of view you bring to this debate.
I expected more from a law professor at UW.
Pathetic.
Aren't these caring and compassionate people?
Aren't they so loving and kind?
@madawaskan: Heh. Good eye! I so rarely miss letters--usually just entire words!
You recognize, don't you, that by focusing on, and amplifying, the silliest aspects of the protests at the capitol, you yourself look small and silly.
You recognize, don't you Chris, that the entire thing has been silly - every last protester.
You have no good argument on your side - nothing that you could calmly say to persuade - so you've gone with the fever of the crowd.
It is wrong in a democracy to require people to join a union, and to require them to pay to that union.
It is wrong for unions to be formed against taxpayers and their representatives.
It is wrong for unions to donate to the very politicians that will be negotiating with them.
And what do you say to these?
Nuttin! You got nuttin!
This is what community organizing is all about. Too bad we didn't understand that before the 2008 election, but it's becoming clearer every day now.

Politicians with a majority voting through a law with only a few weeks notice. Diabolical.
Chris
Are you reading your own comment?
OK. The Capitol police would need to be notified?
I think that explains your next question-
what was the emergency?
You actually answered yourself you just don't realize it-and you did it backwards.
Riddle me this Batman-is the majority party required to notify the Capitol police every time they take a vote?
Is that the usual procedure?
*crickets*
As Madawaskan said, if the police had to be notified then there was certainly an emergency. My thinking is that most legislation passed doesn't require a notification so security can prepare for a shit attack.

Yeah.. Keeping it class in Wisconsin.
Althouse has voted for Gore, Edwards and Obama.

Oh, sure, now that I've deleted and corrected my mistake, here come the glog jokes.
@Chris
"Given the lack of dignity in so many of your comments, it seems that you (and Althouse) don't."
That is one dignified display of poop by an intellectual superior in that picture.
As I said earlier, I've begun working on a poop pile for 2012, so I can be as dignified as you are, sir. Thank you for broadening my horizons.
WV: conkin: My poop pile is conkin the heads of anyone who dares walk under the exit nozzle. With dignity, of course. Poopin' with dignity.

POOP SELLS!
It is part of the reason why althouse.blogspot.com has an Alexa Traffic Rank in US of 6,357, and a flaming liberal turd of a site such as thedailypage.com sits at 12,201.
I for one am thrilled this post brought a concern troll around.
It's like our very own fairy moral compass or something.
See? This is why I thought locking the bathrooms in the Capitol was not a good idea.
Is it real? If so, what is he going to do with it when the protest ends?

Cool. Trust me some of our irregular liberals around here are a lot nastier to us.
So sorry if I jumped on you too much.

Afterall, this is clearly Wisconsin keeping it classy. Are you guys shitting me? :D

I beg to differ. Sit down Waldo!

Kent, my first thought was that Michael Moore had to be involved in that effort.
I’m a little surprised that with all of the concerns about public health that there isn’t some statute or ordinance in Wisconsin or Madison that prohibits transporting such a large quantity of unsecured animal waste on a public sidewalk. Or maybe there is and the same “safety” officials who are charged with its enforcement and exempted from the collective bargaining changes are looking the other way.
someone should triple dog dare Flick to touch it with his tongue
I was wrong. First time this year. I looked at the raw image on Flicker and thats plaster shit. Now I can't tell you the paint isn't shit based, but if you look at the bottom you can see the plaster or paper mache

Of course, the truth is the only defense needed.
It that what Titus looks like?
That's got to be Titus.
I'm sure it is.

I think Drill is right. In addition to the papier mache, a tip off is the symmetry and remarkable consistency of the pile. Any respectable dung shoveler knows that containers for the stuff need sides. This should be a truth in advertising violation.

"Death-rattle"? That's a pretty dramatic way of putting things for a Tory.
Where did Vicky spend her long hiatus? Drama camp?
Does the content selection here really reflect on the other side (whose position, mind you, still has more and even growing support)? We are, after all, talking about a blog that was obsessed with bathrooms and even featured a "citizen-journalist" nearly catching himself in a Larry Craig moment after banging on an occupied men's room stall.
Don't mind C4, Vic. It's just Ritmo/Montana Urban Legend with a new avatar, having earned [ignore] status on those.

What's weird about Ritmo is how very occasionally he will be normal for 2 or 3 posts.

2) Someone else is posting on his handle.
3) Very occasionally, he is actually normal.

Do you just make shit up as you go along or do you have to ask the guy who was pulling your cart for permission to come here? I'm sure there is a Titus joke in there somewhere where you pay him a $100 and ask him to eat more cheese for consistency so you can look like the picture in your cart.

@Pogo:
I thought Trooper York's blog did a good job at partially soothing the savage beast within Ritmo. I mean look how he tamed HDHouse.
Singletons or pairs of Althouse commenters with special enmity or anger issues should be compelled to go there for rehab.
Yay. :)
Lol. Blog rehab.
Trooper's a good guy. He also has a fertile mind. The combination is irresistible to those addicted to shooting down (up?) bad comments as if they were internet crack.
@vbspurs I think Ron qualifies as a "legacy commenter".

I came to this blog via Reynolds during one of the first vortices, the Great Open Sores / Pajamas Media War of 2005.
To be fair, I think a few people who still comment today preceded me, such as chuck b, XWL, and of course the oldest commenter ever, vbspurs.
But of course I'm still the best!
"On Blogger Since July 2001"
"Like you, I found Althouse through InstaPundit."
Why am I not surprised that fls is an expert on shit?
