Gaddafi is a fickle friend at best. He is everybody's friend, but he really has only trusted in murdering his enemies. That kind of brutal King usually lasts a long time, until his own family members kill him first. So far Gaddafi has been quicker than his enemies. And Gaddafi seems to sense that the Islamic gangs of today are the family that is out to kill him . Maybe he is considering a conversion to Christianity like Obama did. He maybe smart enough to do it.

Part of Reagan's appeal ie "Reagan Democrats" in 1980 ~ Hey, how bad can this guy be as he used to be a Democrat ...
I keep wondering if Gaddafi is in the late stages of syphilis.
I heard Ed Morrissey and Andrew McCarthy today. The fact that neither the State Dept. or the White House made any plans to get American citizens out. This was foreseeable after Tunisia went and then Egypt. Now those who didn't get out are in jeopardy, and we have to watch what we say. China had something like 5,000 of their nationals and they've gotten them all out.
Not that they'd do anything about it anyway. Maybe Gaddafi has too much oil being supplied to American companies.
Given Obama's actions with regard to Zelaya and Chavez how can you be sure he is not bestest buds with Ghaddafi. Certainly not out of the question. Add in the Iran president and you have yet another bestest buds for obama. Not out of the question at all.
But Reagan used his terms as president of the SAG to fight against the Communists in the union. Even though he was a Democrat then, he still knew s*it from shinola, which is more than can be said about many of the academics then and now.
By his own admission, Reagan immediately aligned himself with the corrupt Teamsters and other mob-connected unions in an effort to combat Hollywood Reds.
A sweetheart relationship developed between MCA and the guild, which culminated in July 1952 during Reagan's fifth consecutive term as SAG's president. The agreement violated SAG's bylaws.
At the end of Reagan's fifth term, he began to have serious financial problems, particularly with the IRS. In response, MCA negotiated a deal with the Last Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas--which was then operated by Chicago mobsters--for Reagan to host a song-and-dance show for two weeks and to receive enough money to cover his back tax debt.
Despite his status as a television producer, Reagan remained on SAG's board in another violation of the guild's bylaws, which prohibited producers from holding office in SAG. In 1959, when Reagan ran for an unprecedented sixth term as SAG's president, his opponents raised the bylaws issue. Publicly, Reagan denied that he had ever produced The General Electric Theater--a flat-out lie.
The contract that Reagan and company arranged with the studios is still known in Hollywood as "The Great Giveaway"; it provided residuals for actors only from films made after 1960. This greatly benefited MCA, which had purchased the film library of Paramount Pictures in 1959. Now, MCA could keep all the profits.
In 1962, the Justice Department filed a federal antitrust suit against MCA on the basis that it was both a talent agency and a production company; SAG was charged as a coconspirator.
Reagan was the subject of criminal and civil investigations by both the FBI and a federal grand jury in Los Angeles. A Justice Department memorandum quoted a Hollywood source as saying, "Ronald Reagan is a complete slave of MCA who would do their bidding on anything."
Reagan was subpoenaed before the grand jury, but he appeared to experience amnesia during his testimony on February 5, 1962, and failed to recall the major decisions that had been made when SAG had granted MCA the exclusive blanket waiver in 1952. Federal prosecutors were so convinced that Reagan had perjured himself repeatedly during his testimony that they subpoenaed his and his wife's income tax returns for the years 1952 to 1955. Nancy Reagan had been a member of SAG's board of directors since 1951.
>
Deeply affected by the breakup of MCA, Reagan, a lifelong Democrat, became an anti-big government Republican. He had been urged to do so by his own political mentor, Taft Schreiber, a longtime MCA vice president, and by MCA's founder, Jules Stein, both of whom were active in Republican politics.
>
As President, Reagan watched as his Justice Department quashed major federal investigations of the Mafia’s penetration of both MCA and the entire motion picture industry, which were being conducted by the Los Angeles office of the U.S. Strike Force Against Organized Crime. Two highly respected Strike Force prosecutors, Marvin Rudnick and Richard Stavin, lost their jobs because of their refusal to succumb to pressure from the Reagan Administration. ~~~~~
Again, if one is looking for a saint, it behooves one to totally avoid politics ...
Dare I say, Reagan was straight out of central casting :) much like JFK and Obama.
Let's get real about who really supports him: Some of the biggest oil producers and servicers, including BP, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Chevron, Conoco and Marathon Oil joined with defense giants like Raytheon and Northrop Grumman, multinationals like Dow Chemical and Fluor and the high-powered law firm White & Case to form the US-Libya Business Association in 2005. The members of its executive advisory council each pay $20,000 in annual dues to the group, which is managed by the National Foreign Trade Council, a coalition that seeks to facilitate international opportunities for U.S. companies. Most of the group's members have lobbied the U.S. government since 2004 to protect their investments in Libya or to iron out business problems with the regime.

I was wondering this morning why the world needs to speak with one voice, as Obama said yesterday?
Why can't there be many voices with differing opinions?
Does America have to always wait until everyone else lines up behind her to speak? Is that what Obama is saying?
Or is he saying that he is waiting for someone else to come up with a position that he can "me too" - like a little Sir Echo?
Oh, BTW - Obama sucks.
Just sayin'.
I think we're all on the Obama high speed train to oblivion.

Energy Independence: The Middle East going up in flames on Obama's watch while he retreats back to playing Community Organizer in Wisconsin.
DHOTUS. Diversity Hire Of The United States.
Gas prices are going up because the Zero and Biden (Zero minus one) are in cahoots with the oil industry.

(You can just spell his name any way you want. Any spelling is correct.)
Then I'd like to spell it in a way that rhymes with "other trucker."
Well, c'mon...if Drudge says it...and The Queen posts it.
It must be true.
Duh.
Quaestor "He was probably scared shitless we were going to topple him in a like manner as we had done to Saddam."
Yeah, and that "toppling" thingie has really worked out great hasn't it?
Duh.

Did he bow to him? Just curious.

Tit for tat political blogging is always quite effective, eh ie deflection, false equivalency notwithstanding ...

btw, Reagan used to be friendly w/liberal actors er President of SAG ~ Gasp the horror! lol as can one imagine all those liberal undesirables he associated/corresponded w/back in the '40s/'50s.
Yes Virginia, Dutch was a member er president of a union ~ oh the humanity!
hmm, guilt by association which is all part of ailes/atwater/turdblossom's scorched earth politics beginning in the late '60s.

On a related note, a buffoon at another blog asked me how I could be an Ohio State football fan knowing Jim Tressel was/is a die hard Republican ?!? my reply: as long as Tressel keeps beating Michigan he could be an Islamo-Fascist!
>
Part of Reagan's appeal ie "Reagan Democrats" in 1980 ~ Hey, how bad can this guy be as he used to be a Democrat ...
apologies to buffoons
Dose of Sanity "But linking it in that manner certainly gives the impression you think its credible."
Of course she thinks it's credible, what other reason would she have to post it?
My God, do you right wing lunatics still listen to Drudge, a man who makes the National Enquirer look like the NY Times?
You realize you just insulted the National Enquirer?
I keep wondering if Gaddafi is in the late stages of syphilis.
I heard Ed Morrissey and Andrew McCarthy today. The fact that neither the State Dept. or the White House made any plans to get American citizens out. This was foreseeable after Tunisia went and then Egypt. Now those who didn't get out are in jeopardy, and we have to watch what we say. China had something like 5,000 of their nationals and they've gotten them all out.
Not that they'd do anything about it anyway. Maybe Gaddafi has too much oil being supplied to American companies.

Thimk of how many thousands in the 3rd World will starve to death because of it.

Yep.
Given Obama's actions with regard to Zelaya and Chavez how can you be sure he is not bestest buds with Ghaddafi. Certainly not out of the question. Add in the Iran president and you have yet another bestest buds for obama. Not out of the question at all.
shiloh,
But Reagan used his terms as president of the SAG to fight against the Communists in the union. Even though he was a Democrat then, he still knew s*it from shinola, which is more than can be said about many of the academics then and now.
I forgot to add the arms dealer and money launderer who helped Obama buy his house:
Friends of Muammar [FoM]
Auchi, Nadhmi
Ayers, Bill
Farrakhan, Louis
Obama, Barak
Rezko, Tony
Wright, Jeremiah
Needless to say Reagan's career, political and otherwise was/is very mixed.
The Corruption of Ronald Reagan
er oh I'm sorry St. Ronnie ;)
>
>

Again, if one is looking for a saint, it behooves one to totally avoid politics ...
Dare I say, Reagan was straight out of central casting :) much like JFK and Obama.
Dione Warwick, what a beautiful voice!
Let's get real about who really supports him:
Some of the biggest oil producers and servicers, including BP, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Chevron, Conoco and Marathon Oil joined with defense giants like Raytheon and Northrop Grumman, multinationals like Dow Chemical and Fluor and the high-powered law firm White & Case to form the US-Libya Business Association in 2005.
Hey RV you going to source that? Those clearly aren't your own words.
Deceptive and disgusting post....and Fraudulent.
