@deborah It was 8 inches thick. The cracks actually made the thickness of the ice more obvious. And there was no movement at the crack. It was completely solid.
“Even with 4 percent growth, the unemployment rate would be close to 9 percent at the end of 2011 and above 8 percent at the end of 2012. We wouldn’t see anything resembling full employment until late in Sarah Palin’s first presidential term.”
Sounds reasonable. I always thought Krugman would eventually come around.
Along with the helmet, I think maybe Meade should get you some elbow pads till you become more proficient. That could really smart if you came down the wrong way. But man, it looks like fun.
In the past year, one way or another, I think I've fallen about 10 times. I've never broken anything. But I knocked the back of my head really hard today.

You may want to get that checked out. Inner ear or whatever.
Seriously, a lady of your age needs to be a bit circumspect about falls. The Blonde was worried for several days about her bone scan before it came back OK - she can't do pills like Actonel and the drip is expensive.
"One can only hope Madame had some padding to soften the fall."
I was wearing a very thick sweater under that jacket. (Which is why it looks so bulky.)
Feeling slightly Puckish, I was thinking more of the padding that came with the original unit. :)
But, again, I am serious about your finding out if there's something wrong. Take care.

Those cracks are unnerving.
You got something against black ice deborah?
Still waiting for the golf ball experiment.

Now, I did fall 4 times. That sucked.
From Paul Krugman's column today:

Crack has an 8 inch thick... never mind..
Where is Tropper? I don't want to be accused of stealing his material.
I look at that ice and I think "thank God I moved to Texas, thank God I moved to Texas."
Aren't the cracks more unnerving when you cant see them?
although it seems that MeadeHouse did not venture onto the ice that fine day.

Has Meade been checking your pupils to see if they're equally dilated?
So how the heck can the Green Bay Packers play football without a covered stadium?
