Looks cold and grim.

Snuggle up to your husband, Mrs Meade.

Stay warm.

New York magazine says Lauren Bush plans to marry Ralph Lauren's son David, running the risk of becoming Lauren Lauren.

The prospective bridegroom is 50% older than Lauren (39 to her 26) but no sign of GWB getting out the breadknife.

That photo is almost like a sepia.

Know what warms you right up? Delicious cauliflower soup with homemade stock, that's what.

Know what goes with a thick hot soup? Homemade snail crackers.

If you don't care for that, how 'bout a steaming hotHasselhoff potato that has got nothing to do with David Hasselhoff.

Shoot, I knew I'd mess that up. Neil, of course.

Whose woods are those so lovely, dark and deep?
I'd linger longer here but I have promises to keep,
And blogs to surf before I sleep.

I got my teeth whitened today and they look fab.

But the moon is waxing gibbous.

Also, I have a fear of the dentist so I do sedation dentistry for every procedure I have-even teeth cleanings.

I just can't stand anyone putting anything in my mouth. I used to be so paranoid going to the dentist.

Now, I am completely fine because I am sedated.

For those of you who may have the same issues you should consider sedation dentistry.

You will thank me for it and your teeth will thank me as well.

I think I read in the Wisconsin State Journal (local paper) that we only have either 5 or 7 hours of sunlight on December 21 which is the longest day of the year.

Please correct me, fellow pubes If I am wrong.

The winter woods always seemed so peaceful and inviting to me...and back then, it was.

Now it's likely hiding packs of hungry coyotes or feral dogs. Not what you want to run into; and I've known some who have.

Still, with your 2nd Amendment rights intact and a Glock in your pocket, the winter woods can still be enjoyed. Just pack an extra magazine.

Appears to be a pretty historic vote on Saturday. A simple answer to a simple question.

If a certain commenter must depart, he can back as a former something. He could name himself "former plumbing student", then I'll always know. Just between me and you ;-)

Right on schedule for a full moon on the 21st.

Shouldn't there be some special tidal events (tidings :) with the moon and sun all aligned like that?

gm -- the deadline is Xmas Eve.

Penny said...

There's a total lunar eclipse that night, chickelit, and NASA has some special plans.

I suspect Althouse has enough photographs of this quality to have a show.. if she wanted to.

Penny said...

Agreed, Lem, but would much prefer if she published a tabletop book of her best photographs.

That way it could be shipped to me instead of me being shipped off to Madison for her art show.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

Thats a good idea Penny.

Keep your promises, Althouse.

Titus, if you use baking soda added to your regular toothpaste (as opposed to baking soda toothpaste) you get both whitening and breath freshening ... free of charge.

Dudley Do-Right, your woods are inhabited by Democrats.

Nobody bit on this? Hours have passed. Or have all the others rejected grabbing the low-hanging fruit?

Neil, of course.

Neil Bush is going to marry Ralph Lauren's son David?

I'm eating a nice meat lasagna with a simple salad and cilantro dressing. After that, I'm having a nice cup of teat to follow.

"Waxing gibbous" sounds jabberwockyish.

The Christmas flame is weak within me this year, but I'll take what I can get. The lovely picture of the woods helps.

Not quite the darkest evening?

The earliest sunset in Madison, Wisconsin is December 9.

All nine of them, I hope.

David said...

"The earliest sunset in Madison, Wisconsin is December 9."

Just how does that happen?

Anonymous said...

It happens because the time of solar noon gets later every day at this time of year. The shortest day is at the solstice, but the earliest sunset is about 12 days before it and the latest sunrise is about 12 days after it.

The astronomer in me compels me to point out it will be the longest night of the year, not the darkest.

Carry on.
