Actually he is teacher's pet because he was the best of the early commenters when Althouse began. His observations are keen, wittily delivered and thought-provoking, all wrapped in compelling writing. My only rail against him is his derisive description of many of my relatives because they disagree with one of his political/social stands.
Still, palladian is the best.
Merry Christmas Professor and Meade, palladian and all the Althouse regulars who made this such a vital place to hang in 2010!
Merry Christmas and have a safe and happy New Year to you all. Especially to you Althouse for providing this forum of debate and to you too Meade for being her anchor. Indeed, you've certainly rubbed off on her. And yes, this includes the leftards too.
I ordered a cake for a Christmas Party yesterday, and they spelled Christmas wrong (Forgot the T). They offered to remake it, but that seemed silly, so I just got them to cram the T in there and it was fine. Most at the party did not speak English anyway, so it probably would gone unnoticed. I felt bad for the cake girl, no matter what I said about it not being so bad, she seemed very embarrassed. Even without the T Chrismas is still pronounced the same, and for all the guys named Chris born on Dec. 25th: Merry Chrismas!
Merry Christmas to all! I dropped the C-word at least a dozen times today, and everyone responded in kind. It was almost like when Christianity was still legal.
"No card from State Farm this year." Really? I got mine this year. And a birthday card from them in October. In fact, St Farm and Edward Jones are the most reliable in remembering my birthday and Christmas of just about anyone else.
I am duty-bound (on orders from my local party boss, whose directive came straight from the Master Kenyan in Washington) to extend well wishes for Happy Holidays to all comrades in remembrance of the December-born messiah, Joseph Stalin.

Nice. No wonder he is teacher's pet.
Merry Christmas to all, especially the trolls.

Bob and Ray describe getting a four-leaf clover card and calendar from their insurance agent each year in the 1950s.
It's sad to see the commercial neighborliness die.
OTOH, Hartford still reliably sends the refrigerator magnet calendar. That, and bills, are the only reliable seasonal mail we get.
Some time ago, opting for a new GE stainless steel icebox, we lost the magnatism. Now we have to scotch tape everything onto the door.
I will never buy another #$%..# GE product. DOn't get me started.
Merry Christmas Palladian!

Beautiful. A nice blending of industrial aesthetics and craft.
I'd love to know more about the process. I know enough to tell that it's not cold type.
Really nice work there Palladian!
Seasoned Greetings!

Nice stuff Palladian. I'm enjoying it a lot.

Ann, you have a lot of talented readers.

Merry Christmas, Palladian.
Your card made me wonder how red and green became the colors of Christmas.
Penny,
I always wondered why people put apples on Christmas trees. Now I know.
Nice work Palladian.
Thanks everyone.

It's a relief print from a very, very worn 1920's electrotype printing block.
Merry Christmas to all.
Palladian,always enjoy your work.
And a very merry (pardon the expression!) Christmas to all!
Three lemons? Excessive. Two lemons? Bereft of joy.
Two and a half lemons? Inspired!
Lovely work.
Interesting how the color accumulates in the negative space on a printing block.
It makes sense when you think about it.
Merry Christmas from one of the reformed Leftards to everyone!
wv: isten. Do you want to know a secret?

Stellar work, Palladian.

State Pharm cards are still being prepared by DHSS and will be rolled out next year.
