Are you? You look like a faculty member.

That's true!

It must be the bumper of bangs. People can't help but display this image.

That picture was well adjusted to the article which says will power is unlimited. That clearly refers to the pictured lady who has willed 2000+ continuous days of blog postings for the entertainment of weird strangers like us.

Are you getting royalties on that picture? If not, you should get a lawyer.

Low tech. Not a computer or iPhone in sight!

1981 was an eon ago.

You should get Meade to do an update of you. Same pose, specs (if you use them), same (or similar) outfit, same expression.

"Low tech. Not a computer or iPhone in sight! 1981 was an eon ago."

In 1981, I would have been thrilled just to have a typewriter with a correction ribbon that operated with a backspacing key. I was writing my last law-school exam, a take-home in Federal Courts, writing longhand and carefully editing, then typing it out to produce a clean copy — hopefully not using too much Wite-Out.

By the way, it was about 3 a.m. and by far the latest I'd ever stayed up doing schoolwork.

We lived in a studio apartment, and we had a newborn baby, born during spring break.

I think the lawyer would say that if anyone should get royalties, it's the person who took the picture, my first husband, Richard. But the picture is posted on Flickr — by John, the erstwhile newborn — with a Creative Commons license, and in this case, the picture is following the requirements of the license.

I'm amused to be an icon of studying, and I only want the photo to be linked back to John's Flickr page with a photo credit to Richard.

It's a cautionary tale: Don't let this happen to you. This wholesome, studious woman ended up...a blogger.

World-famous frazzled student Ann Althouse says, "Frooby!"

Yes, Althouse should add to her resume "model" or perhaps "clip-art icon".

અજ્ઞાત કહ્યું...

I see that Ritmo is now using "Long" as his nom-de-nonsense.

+1 edutcher.

This photo has become the Greg Packer of clip art.

Glad to see there's an attribution.

OK, Ann, that's a really cute photo. Your expression is great, too.

Nice rack...book, of course.

Seems like there were lots of law students dying their hair brown in the early 80s. I miss that.

I pictured Althouse's ex putting royalties into a birthday preset fund for the boys.

Dang -- half the keys on my laptop are sticking.
