"A group of Radiohead fans went to a recent show in Prague 'on a mission to capture the band playing using as many different angles as possible.'"

"Radiohead found out about this and provided the audio so that the fans could piece everything together into proper videos."

Beautiful! I love when artists respond to the work of their fans like this.

I love Radiohead's work and own all of their albums. What still mystifies me to this day, though, is why they consistently have more than one album in the top 10 or 25 "albums of all time".

I mean, sure, they're great. But they're not THAT good.

My favorite was when, one night, a kid came up to me after a show and sheepishly admitted he'd recorded it, sure I was going to be pissed. Instead, I asked him for a copy and bought him a beer. It was a crappy tape (he made it on a digital recorder in his pocket) but a cherished document because you can hear the crowd - and a nearby couple in it - going from ignorant bystanders (the woman: "What did he say? I eat too much 'grapes'?" after my song "Grease", with the man wrongly-replying I'm a vegetarian) to total fans in 4 songs ("These guys are good, huh?") Unfortunately, MySpace and other music sites don't allow .mp3s of that size to be posted - it's apparently even too big for some e-mail boxes to accept - so I can't link to it.

As far as Radiohead - good band, and this was a fine gesture - but I find I can't put them in my iPod shuffle without fucking up the mix. They're approach to music is too much like fine china to fit in with the emotionally utilitarian paper-or-plasic needs most music is used for (Sing along with Mitch!) so, instead, they get pulled out when I'm doing something specific where I can at least half-way focus on what they're doing, and that's a drag.

That's the reviewers, patting themselves on the back for "getting it", and nothing more. Pay it no mind. Both Radiohead and Green Day made their bones calling President Bush a dumbshit:

Neither they - nor their hardcore fans - are that good, honest, or bright.

All this reminds me, I really should see DIVA.

Word verification: naliphie.

On one of their tours, Phish played a game of chess vs. the audience. At each show the band would select a move and a person pulled from the audience would select a move. The board was a large one hanging from the back of the stage so everyone could see it.

This has been done many times before.

I like Radiohead's music; I wasn't aware of their politics.

I guess I won't vote for them in the next election.

"2 + 2 = 5" (from 2004) seems to be about the Iraq war and/or the war on terror:

Are you such a dreamer
To put the world to rights? ...

I swat 'em like flies but like flies the buggers keep coming back

Correction: it came out in June 2003, very shortly after the invasion of Iraq.

Pfffft. Muse is way better then Radiohead and definitely goes good on your MP3 player mix.

Been a Muse fan for a long time. But I still prefer death metal.

Too bad they (mostly) ignored "The Bends" in this concert.
I hope one day to be able to see them live and if I do they had damned well better play "There There" which is just an amazing song.

We may not agree on a lot but I can second that sentiment.

I imagine this as the theme song of the Green Revolution in Iran.

fights, battles have begun
revenge will surely come
your hard times are ahead
