I agree with both Palin and Synova. And I never thought I'd say that.

It's fun that she used that particular word.

Palin's wrong about Brewer, though. Brewer hemmed and hawed about signing SB1070, and only signed it finally because the overwhelming majority of Arizonans recognize the need to do something, since the Feds won't. Brewer did not sign out of principle, but out of expediency. She is a weak leader and won't cut spending but always looks first to raising taxes. Not exactly a shining light of conservatism.

It's true that Brewer has been better since the media spotlight has been on her, but she still strikes me as your basic politician who has reached the level of her incompetence.

And what a pleasant world it would be where we don't have to hear the media tell us every day how the president [D or R] will fix our lives.

Pure punk.

I know, but HD keeps posting.

Amen to that, HD. Brewer signed that bill with a gun to her head and no belief in the bill. She did it for sheer political reasons, like a good governor. She will get some mileage out of this but, in the end, it will net her nothing.

A Day without Palin is a day with sunshine and birds and happiness. It's ok, Kirby, Palin probably doesn't know what it means.

Joan, Brewer may not have pushed for the measure and maybe she signed it somewhat reluctantly, but she's showing backbone now. If she was Obama she'd be blaming her legislature and distancing herself from the problem.

"If she was Obama she'd be blaming her legislature and distancing herself from the problem."

So, she signed it w/ a proverbial gun to her head. But, now that it's obviously popular she's decided to hijack the bandwagon. And, this is some great example of political strength that BHO could never equal?

You don't see any flaws in this thinking? Why is it supposed to be difficult for a politician to put their finger in the wind before they open up the spinnaker to ride the political winds of the moment? That seems like the opposite of so called "political cojones."

Not that I agree with all of Joan's points but it should be pointed out that Brewer was not outspoken on the bill as it worked its way through the AZ Senate. In the same manner she's already (to the disgust of Russell Pearce) suggested the bill should be modified in the next session.

I think she's smart enough to recognize she's got a tiger by the tail.

So the Leftists here are all up in arms because Brewer responded to the will of the people.

ZOMG! OH NOES!!!!

We ALREADY know how Obama feels about responding to the will of the people. 68% want the fence built. 57% want Arizona-style laws in their state too, and ANOTHER 17% think the law dosn't go far enough.

So Obama has evidently decided he's only president of the 26-32% of the population who think that the current state of unchecked illegal immigration is just fine and dandy, and somehow BREWER is the problem here?

Yeah...It's another day of life in the fantasy world of the delusional Left where Obama poops Skittles and the unicorns roam freely under double rainbow skies.

Well, okay. If you want to say something that Obama is taking the big guns out about "obviously popular" then I suppose that's a useful definition.

Had a liberal friend over at the house this morning while I was watching FNS. When Palin said that she blurted out - "You don't say cojones on a Sunday morning show." I just chuckled to myself - this is the same side that insists putting anything on tv or the radio at any time of day or night is perfectly wonderful no matter the sexual content. Palin says cojones and all of the sudden we're all puritans now.

Opus One Media said...

synova...actually it was a great rejoinder and i'm glad with your good heart you thought of it instead of some of the stranger folks...

but you all know that I wasn't talking about president O.

HD's response to having his tired rant turned around on him by Synova reminds me so much of the guy who claims that he would have hit a home run if he hadn't struck out first...

Yeah, whatever....

Have to agee - touche, Synova, but alas, after further review, only a ground rule double on account of the truth of Brewer's motivations. That way too obvious error forced the official score keepers change of heart. Nice try, though.

Joe said...

but she's showing backbone now

No she isn't. She's already gone weak at the knees and is talking about changing the law.

I predict that Brewer will prove to be yet another worthless politician.

Sadly, for the country's sake, this won't be the last time Obama will look like a pussy. I expect Sarah to question Obama's manhood early and often during the fall campaigns.

Sarah in the Octogon is kicking The Little Lawless Boy in the nuts. Is that legal? She must figure that the whole job is on her shoulders since no one else has peeped out of hiding. Where are you Mitty, Hucky, Mitchy, Timmy? It is almost safe to come out now.

I looked up "cojones" and it means literally to conjoin, i.e. coitus. If the meaning is "balls" shouldn't it be "huevos?"

More generally, I think that our masters in the political class have decided that winning the Hispanic vote is more important than having secure borders. Let's pray that the Mexican Drug gangs never join forces with Islamist terrorists. The government is already hamstrung by the conflict between guarding the borders and political expediency.

"but alas, after further review, only a ground rule double on account of the truth of Brewer's motivations."

But doesn't the truth of Brewer's moderate views and less than bombastic approach make the truth of Palin's statement even more stark?

Wow, here's this lady who, without having been on any sort of band-wagon or pushing for immigration enforcement as a fundamental issue (accepting those who said this is true) STILL has more cojones relating to the issue than the president has.

Thats such bullshit. Palin was subjected to frivolous lawsuits by you Libtards that were bankrupting her and intefering with the governing of Alaska.

She took herself out of the play for the sake of Alaska. And for that you call her a "quitter".

Just dont whine like a bitch when we play the same game on your candidates.

Considering what Obama and his cohorts are *really* trying to do to our nation (versus what they told us), then one must concede that he does have some significant cojones - not in the brave or brilliant sense, but in the audacious, underhanded, gangster sense.

Sticking with this terminology, the true test will come in November when we see who really has the bigger cojones: Obama and the ruling elite, or American citizens.
