Sunsets are notoriously hard to get to look in photos like they did when you saw them.
Maybe you know about this already, but I just discovered this HDR stuff that is a new way to make photo scenes look like they do in person to the human eye which can see with up to 11 F-stops.
The last one looks like the ceiling in Hell. (No, that's not a shot)
Magnificent progression.

The wastes of oxygen from Westboro Baptist Church showed up to picket, of all things, the San Diego Comic Convention.
Interesting how many people don't get the Freedom of Speech thing (and I don't mean the Baptists; they may be in the wrong, but they still are allowed their say).

Red sky at night, sailors (and bloggers) delight...

A large counter-protest formed. I'm so proud of my city and its guests! :)
Probably my favorite photos you've ever posted. Beautiful.
Beautiful.
Stunning.
Lovely sky, but the water looks a little rough for that time of night.
Curiosity question after all this time...
Lake Mendota as in "men dot ah" or is it "men dote ah"?
STARFISH PRIME!!!
Wicked Ann!
And you love cafe blogging, but not this cafe: 'From the Heart Attack Cafe'.
"STARFISH PRIME!!!"
Let me guess? Californian?
Simple east coast farm girl here.
PRIMEBULL!
And so...perhaps we are both closer in our tastes than we imagined, veni?
That's the shadow of the earth moving westward.
It's sunrise time already.Back to the great outdoors again before the storms hit heavy on the borderline.

What camera are you using?
A digital SLR?
Most soul inspiring!!
Nice eye and touch.
Thanks!!
Althouse, the abstract expressionist.
Simply stunning work; it captures the promise of tomorrow held within day's end.
NICE pics!!!!
Revenant, I saw the Comic-Con counter protest in the news. I love geeks!
The sunsets from the Memorial Union terrace can be just stunning, like these. I love the colors reflected by the waters, whether the reds or blues.
I saw last night's sunset too (from about 2 miles away from where you were). It was glowing.
Holy crap those are nice. The first one especially.
