I'm impressed how close you could get to wild turkeys. Now if you could only do that next Thanksgiving.

Mr. Hannan Jeopardy! fail. Noooooooooes. Say it isn't so.

Ken Pidcock म्हणाले...

Whoa, the shot of those turkeys is amazing. I'm inclined to accuse you of photographing over bait.

Meade म्हणाले...

Ha ha, Hanman!

Clouds in my cereal,
Just clouds in my cereal
cause...
You're so mean
You prolly thought this Jeopardy! answer
was about John McEnroe

Dint chew?

अनामित म्हणाले...

You think that's close to a wild turkey? Shoot, you guys ain't seen nothing!

Matt Brown म्हणाले...

How close were you to those turkeys? Whenever I approach turkeys in a nearby state park, they run away. I can only get within 15 yards or so.

MaggotAtBroad&Wall म्हणाले...

Great pics. Zoom in on the Tom on the left and you see he has a nice beard.

Penny म्हणाले...

"Ha ha, Hanman!"

Buzzzzzzzzzzzz....Wrong answer!

According to our source, Chip Ahoy, that was the HAM man!

Is it too late to order a ham and cheese on wheat with extra mustard? Hold the McEnroe...on a diet here.

Largo म्हणाले...

I live in a suburban - exurban area in Wisconsin. Our area has a huge turkey population this year, don't know why. They are walking the ditch lines, the shoulders of exurban roads, the parks, the fields and sometimes the unbuilt areas of subdivisions.

I had to stop my car one day in April as a flock of more than fifteen stood in the middle of the road, not moving. They surrounded my car for a few minutes. WTF?

Our coyote population seems to have declined. Perhaps that's why the turkeys have become so bold.

Where I live wild turkeys are almost as much of a road hazard as deer.

where I live the solitary carpenter bee predominates. Just now I saw a male, resplendent in his golden attire.

Not my pic, but a good one:

There are plenty of deer in the Arboretum. My neighbor cracked his rib by plowing into a deer while he (the neighbor) was biking. Not sure what it did to the deer. Probably not much good.

Largo म्हणाले...

FLS,

Speaking of bees, the collapse of bee colonies is one of the few things that truly worry me right now.

former law student म्हणाले...

Honeybees have become so scarce around here I was pleased to see a bee tree in the next neighborhood over. I keep wanting to buy some clover seed, but the big box stores don't carry it where I live.

Largo म्हणाले...

Was it here at Althouse that someone made mention of the relative intelligence of dogs and clover, and a cat replied, asking which it was that was smarter? Something funny like that. Funnier than how I am presenting it. It was sometime in the past few days somewhere, and I have been trying to track it down.

It's my new favorite insult. "I've seen fields of clover brighter than that guy". I don't know why, but clover just works somehow.

Great shot of the turkeys!
