Yesterday, in Wisconsin.
Today, it's bright and sunny, but it's Monday. Everything balances out, perhaps. In fact, I love the misty days with heavily filtered light, and tromping about in the woods was lovely.
I love Mondays too, in fact. It's fun to serve up dollops of doctrine at 11 a.m.
And it's the last Monday like that until 4 months from now.

I'll take my dollop of doctrine on a Constitutional Cracker with a cup of Tea Party Tea, please. You are a winner, dear Professor.
Wow, these are my favorite photos you've done in a long time. So evocative. Makes me think of all my favorite British chick lit, like Jane Eyre, Middlemarch, etc.
The wetness of the bark really accentuates the colors.

@traditionalguy Thanks for the compliment (and for not dying on us!).
@knox Thanks! The combination of the dark light and the light-colored spring leaves was really nice.
It's been a beautiful spring - a wonderful mix of sun, rain, temps and lots of green. We've got a native California traveler coming to visit, later this week. I'm looking forward to showing this all off.
And here come the lilacs. Too bad they were all yanked out by construction down by Camp Randall. Loved that aggregation of bushes.
Is there anything better than an early Spring?
The vines on the felled tree look to be poison oak or poison ivy
Find any mushrooms? I found a few in a Dane Co. park. still a bit early, though.
I can tell by those very Byronesque pictures all your joints and muscles are still moving painlessly. The Blonde can't move in that kind of weather (and I'm not far behind).
Well, more power to you, Madame. Glad somebody our age can enjoy that kind of weather.

Saw you were back, tg. Glad you're feeling better.
Any comment on Dick Leinenkugel's Senate candidacy? Russ Feingold is already running negative ads.

@ edutcher...Thanks, my friend.
The bottom two photos remind me of going mushroom hunting with my dad when I was a kid (morels, not the magical variety).
As I recall, the window for them is pretty short, only about two weeks, but this is the time of year they come out in Missouri where I grew up.
Today is Boobquake.
Dick Leinenkugel, a Republican will challenging Russ Feingold for Senator of Wisconsin. This is the biggest political news since Stormy Daniels joined the Republican party. Yea!
I see James beat me to it.

You are one sick puppy!
AllenS and James, fwiw (which ain't squat) I asked about Leinenkugel back on and April 7.
Towards the end of law school, my husband mentioned to me that he could see me becoming a law professor at some point. I laughed at the time, but Althouse's enthusiasm does make it sound divine.
