Here's a (strong language) illustration of the intellectual level of the teaparties, including a possible call for revolution.

And, that's on a subject that I've covered in around 20 posts and dozens of tweets (see my posts about Arizona).

If the teaparties had cooperated with me and helped me discredit the MSM over their lies about this issue, they could have sent a strong message and encouraged better reporting. They could also have prevented what now looks like a successful disinfo campaign.

Instead, all they can do is suggest revolution.

We really are dealing with the absolute dumbest, least aware political group in the U.S. No, really: I can't think of a single group that's as dumb and unaware.

I can't think of a single group that's as dumb and unaware.

As a matter of fact, I have and.. Yes I can ;)

Oh, gosh.

What Lem doesn't realize is (among many, many, many others) three things:

1. ShovelLady is socially acceptable. By that I mean that MSM reporters and politicians aren't going to be up in arms about her. If any of them find out about her, they're going to ignore her.

2. At the same time as the group that put up that video was demagoguing this issue, they were ignoring all the ways that they could use this issue to strike back at those who actually have power.

I think I've got some gravitas here, since I posted about that group being formed in 2004, after a couple years of posting about the wider issue. And, since I have literally thousands of posts about the wider issue; see for instance this list of illegal immigration-supporting groups that I cover, and note that the numbers in parens are the number of posts that involve each of those groups.

If that group - which is trying to become part of the teaparties infrastructure - were smart they'd help me discredit those who actually have power (see the AZ link in my first comment). Instead, about all they can do is demagogue and make bad decisions.

Let me expand on my earlier point: teapartiers aren't just dumb, it goes beyond that. They also have personality defects that cause them not to realize just how dumb they are, to think they're smarter than they are (by a long shot), to think they're the center of the universe, and a complete and utter unwillingness to accept even the most sugar-coated constructive criticism.

Not just dumb. Not just MegaDumb. Not just SuperMegaUberDumb. But TeapartyDumb.

I don't want to talk about Lonewacko.

Iran appointed to the UN commission on Women's Rights.

How is this in ANY way acceptable? Why isn't the president speaking out on this? Why does our government allow this organization to have any credibilty in our country? It's sickening.

Beautiful photos, Ann. A little like what the burning bush was supposed to look like in "The Ten Commandments" if they'd had decent special effects back then.

(Yes, I'm serious and, yes, that's a compliment.)

And while you're at it, eat the last of the Louisiana oysters and shrimp for a long long long long time.

Kinda takes the wind out of Sarah's Drill Baby Drill spiel.

Ann, this photo reminds me of the Arb in A2. Wouldnt you agree?

Last night, we took a drive, after work out to Bluemounds State Park. What a beautiful night - wind, haze, warm sun going down on the hills west of Madison. It was a treat to get out of the usual Thursday night rut.

@Daniel Though I did go to the Arb in Ann Arbor a few times circa 1970, I don't remember seeing the flowering trees. These pictures show the Arb here at the University of Wisconsin.

About the camera: It's my usual Nikon D50, with my beloved fisheye lens.

Very nice.

I like late afternoon, early evening. There is something really awesome about the light at that time of day.
