"I was an idiot. I was in the wrong. About the breakup. About the haircut story."

"About so many things with her. Anything bad she says about me I can confirm."

Great, great, fabulous response to the revelation that the "worst boyfriend" in that hilarious Lynda Barry comic strip was, in fact, the beloved radio personality...
Ira Glass.

Oh goodie! Now, please tell the truth about Wonder Woman and Superman! We really need to know!

We're really on to the important stuff now, Oh Boy!

Ha ha, that reminds of me of this gem from The Onion: "This American Life Completes Documentation Of Liberal, Upper-Middle-Class Existence"

Ira Glass: role model for SNAGs everywhere...

No, Ira Glass is not gay.

But he is smug and self absorbed.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

As a sports fan, I recently saw an ESPN link to a story titled: "Rothlisberger hires Atlanta Lawyer" when I had no idea why such a headline would exist. Being the subject of a Lynda Barry comic strikes me as a kind of equivalent. A public radio equivalent.

Old Grouchy,

The truth about those two is simple:

-WW is the result of her creator's S&M fetish and belief that female domination would lead to world peace (he also helped create the first lie detectors).

-Superman was originally supposed to be a bald scientist but was later changed into a modern mishmash of Samson/Hercules and Moses. The word "El", as in Kal El and Jor El, is Hebrew for God.

JC: Thank you for the enlightenment you've provided! We may all rest in peace now! Also, you've brought back all that was mystical in my misspent youth, dreams of being faster thaat a speeding bullet, etc...

Ah well, other fish to fry, so to speak!

I have that book (One Hundred Demons). Lynda Barry's comic strips were a hoot, but especially the one's about being a kid.

I have new questions about Ira Glass' taste in women (shudddddddder), but you're right Ann, this is absolutely the best way to respond to being outed like this.

Deny it, and the hunt for evidence begins, with the media writing a new story for each piece of evidence (real or imagined) found. The hunt would be on and who doesn't love a good mystery?

Admit it, embellish your admission, admit things that haven't even been said yet, and the whole thing is a one-day 3-inch story in the "Lighter Side of News" column.

I wouldn't call Ira Glass a "beloved radio personality". He's incredibly annoying and whiny.

If Ira Glass cut his ponytail off, it was because after that brief moment of its being hip in the early 90s, it was the hallmark of uncool.

Had nothing to do with her. But he's petty enough to say it is.

What a jerk.

A cool story with a happy ending. Followed by predictable comments from jealous spiritual and professional spinsters.

Idiocy in its many fascinating forms seems to be today's dominant chord.

In addition to this post, we have:

1. Axelrod dissing Desiree for confusing Obama with a Campbell's Soup can (blame it on Warhol, even if O's time in the limelight will exceed 15 minutes).

2. Ezra Klein's spin is "breathtakingly stupid," which is what happens when you're just spinning yourself.

3. Textbooks trade historical accuracy for PC blather, because all that matters is getting the little buggers to vote the right way. Remember: Teachers are professionals! (At what is the question.)

4. Al Franken at Netroots Nation is the coolest thing ever. Words fail on that one.

5. The white Dem candidate to replace the black Dem governor of NY decides not to do his duty because the investigation of the "sitting governor" is a "complex, weighty matter." Do you think? And if Cuomo did his duty he might, you know, piss off the gov's many black supporters, and that's an even weighter matter.

The best defense is to admit guilt and ask for mercy...Except when there is any money on the table, because then the mercy will disappear in a Buckhead second.
