"Something very important happened here."

That's the title of this picture in my Flickr photostream:

Something very important happened here

It was blogged as "Althouse on the road" a year ago:
Somewhere in America. In the heartland.
It's the Greyhouse Coffee & Supply Co. in West Lafayette — the site of the momentous second date of Althouse + Meade. We're here now, for our Valentine's Eve anniversary.

Beyond the edgy excitement, it's even more beautiful. Cozily married. A weekend in Indiana. Bliss!

Bliss indeed! Looks like a nice place. And going out for breakfast is always bizarrely delicious. It's not hard to make a really good breakfast at home -- omelettes, french toast & pancakes are all so easy kids can make them -- but something about going out just makes a good breakfast that much more amazing.

For me, I'm getting my hair cut for Valentine's Eve and then a night at home with the hubby, some spaghetti, and Scrabble. I'm looking forward to it (except maybe the awful beating I'm going to get at Scrabble).

I'm tempted to jump in the car, run down Northwestern and offer my congrats in person...

We were in the dark.. in other words ;)

I'm kidding.
The best thing that happened to the web after Althouse is Meade.

Along with many others, I smile and enjoy knowing that your story with Meade is going so well. Your readership wishes you both nothing but continued happiness.

Congrats!

Question, how do you always find uncrowded restaurants?

Something very important happened to me in West Lafayette also,

White Castle.

Please send me a sackfull in lieu of a Valentine.

Oh?

You have better things to do?

Then I guess...best wishes to ya all over again!

Well then...

"Question, how do you always find uncrowded restaurants?"

We got here at 8:00. Now, at 10:00, there's nary an empty seat. Apparently, this is many West Lafayetters favorite spot.

Btw, were just minutes ago visited by a delightful young physics major who saw this post and left her apartment 1 block away to come over and say hi. Thanks, E! Good luck at Stanford or MIT grad school, whichever you choose!

Was the fisheye symbolic of nervousness?

The wife reminded me last night of our first date. She remembered that I had brought her flowers, and candy, and took her to a nice restaurant, and then a Symphony and then home and kissed her on the first date. That sounded like I set a pretty high standard and that I need some more attention spent on raising my game back up to it. Settling into a comfort zone has been good too, as time goes by. And we really do love traveling to new places.

This is really romantic or really lusty.
