I predict with confidence that he will sound like an utter fool, and his poll numbers will drop even lower after the ad runs. It's likely to be another one of those "opponents of health care reform are lying" ads, which are themselves full of the most atrocious lies, omissions, and misdirections.
"But I brought you all those Christmas presents? Why don't you love me?"
You want to buy my love? Try doing it with something other than a bunch of expensive sweaters that don't fit, are all out of style, and have "I HAD AN ABORTION" printed all over them.
When Jim Sasser ran for re-election against Bill Frist, the crux of his argument for voting for him was that he, Sasser, was next in line for Senate Majority Leader and that he would use his position to funnel tons of pork to Tennessee. Sasser lost, and the Republicans took the Senate that year, so even if he had won that would never have happened.
Some folks actually consider spending other people's money to be stealing. Believe it or not.
What is it about "thou shalt not steal anything small"that Nebraska's self reliant farmers cannot understand? In this case Nelson got a very large pile of loot from the other States. Solution will be to accept the money and fire Nelson anyway for tempting them to do it.
Santa Claus brought a lump of coal to bad kids because, in the old days, everybody had a Franklin stove and he loved even the bad kids enough to want them to be warm on Christmas night.
The people of Nebraska had done nothing wrong (except, possibly, elect him, but that can be chalked up to unwise, rather than bad), but they know the "gifts" are going to turn into a lump of coal soon enough.
"I'm convinced this is right for Nebraska," Nelson says.
Really, you fat, bloating, clusterfucked pig. Can you please clarify or at least articulate in some intelligible fashion what that conviction entails? What convinced you that this is right for Nebraska in order for you to fuck the rest of the country, hmmm? I've had it with these slop-sucking pigs. As I said before and I'll say it again. If you have a D next to your name, you are nothing but a Danger to this country. Period. End of story.
Pretty nearly everyone understands that healthcare reform will lead to healthcare that is more costly and not nearly as good as what most people enjoy today. Perhaps when he voted "aye" Nelson thought that the vast majority of Nebraskans either fell into either the category of people who would benefit or fell into the category of people who are prepared to sacrifice their healthcare and the healthcare afforded to their families on the alter of amorphous some greater good.
Anyone paying attention to Nelson knew all along that he would vote for the (for any) healthcare bill.
I wrote to him anyway, many times. Did he listen? Nope. I doubt that he even looked at the reports his staff must have prepared for him. Why would he? He already had his mind made up. What I think is funny is that Reid seemed not to know that he could count on Ben's vote all along.

Stole the presents is more likely.

Will they get away with this crap? Actually, they might.

Meade wins the thread.
I suspect he had coaching.
What a loser. He'd be well-served to stroll up to the mic tonight and simply utter two words before turning around and leaving the hall:
"I, douchebag."
(the other kev)

If so, then he probably thought wrong.
If you squeezed Nelson's nose bulb would it rain golden snot? Just asking. A mark can still ask...I think.

You can watch Nelson's (bland) ad here.
"I suspect he had coaching."
Absolutely not.
