"The Washington Post reporter says the president wore a cardigan, and you all just believed it?"

Said Marcia:
Look at the picture. It's a crew neck.

Please remember that the MSM can't be trusted to accurately report anything.
Caught! Liberal bias again!

AND: Combining the Halloween costumes of the First Lady and Prez, I am wearing a leopard-skin-print cardigan:

And, tangentially, on the night after we saw Bob Dylan in Chicago, he opened with "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat" — my all time favorite Bob Dylan song (which contains my all time favorite Bob Dylan simile).

Maybe it was a gift from Jimmy Carter, so the reporter made an incorrect assumption.

kentuckyliz ayon kay ...

That's racist.

Everyone knows crew is a white man's sport.

Ahhh, where are the Go Fug Yourself gals when they are really needed? ;)

Lord Cardigan is turning in his grave while his spirit is still trying to extract himself from the Crimean War.

Ron ayon kay ...

Maybe 150 years from now there will be a garment called an "Obama".

Tibore ayon kay ...

That begs the question of what Lord Crew Neck is doing. :-D

Scott ayon kay ...

@Ron: Perhaps Obama's fashion statement will be as interesting as Eldrige Cleaver's.

Chip Ahoy ayon kay ...

Gibb's son as Boba Fett is adorable. Looks like a great party. Obama was smart not to dress in costume, it's a no-win, the ridicule and Photoshops would be ceaseless no matter what costume he chose.

They do seem biased in favor of incompetence, don't they?

Perhaps someone can help me out with that one. ;)

Damn, 13 minutes from immortality on the front page.

Timbore,

Your permit to use the phase "begs the question" has been revoked.

Seriously, doesn't anyone study logic anymore.

Haha, 'phrase' serves me right for getting all didactic and $#!&.

Front-paged. Wow! Thanks, Althouse.

holdfast ayon kay ...

The most famous Cardigan wearers of the 20th century are Jimmy Carter and Mr. Rogers. Both are/were avowed left-wingers. Clearly this show's the media's propensity to project their hopes and beliefs onto Obama.

And I thought Obama had dressed up as a black Perry Como.

Ann Althouse ayon kay ...

I'm wearing a leopard-skin cardigan right now.

If he'd worn a lighter color and cried a lot, he could have been a Menendez brother.

That is a really scary picture. Your head is huge!

Jason (the commenter) ayon kay ...

I love the picture Althouse posted. It's almost like an album cover for some sort of punk or goth group. It looks like there's a cross behind her, too (a la Huckabee) which adds to the feel.

Jason (the commenter) ayon kay ...

It's better darker Althouse!

Already trying to lighten her image so she can appeal to a more mainstream audience. She sold out quick!

Ann Althouse ayon kay ...

Hmmm.

Titus ayon kay ...

I don't think it is a scarey pic. I think it is kind of hot.

I imagine Althouse is giving me the come hither look and yes I will obey and will come to you my diva.

I like the wrinkly rubber face better than the leopard skin.

Grrriiiiiinnnnnnnnnn .... :o)

Careful, Pho, or Meade will be here reminding you what the Virginian said to Trampas.

Meade ayon kay ...

That's right, edutcher.

Tibore ayon kay ...

Aieee... why leopard print? Every time I think of big cat-patterned clothing, I'm reminded of an image a so-called "friend" emailed me once.

Emotionally scarring that was. So, I'll be a bastard and inflict it on a whole new passel of victims. :-D

I was thinking of, "Smile when you say that" :)

BTW, thanks for showing me the way to those old clips. I miss shows like that.

Oops.

Sorry, Photog714. Better have Doc take a look at that fat lip.

I used to have a trench coat with epaulets. I always felt a little Bogeyish when I wore it. Cynical, disillusioned but still willing to walk down the mean streets in pursuit of justice. It was closer to a costume than to a raincoat, and I enjoyed playing the part....Leopard skin seems to have a similar effect on you. You've got a Helen Mirren thing going on. "Bond, I don't send you to your certain death for personal reasons but for the good of the empire. Now go.".

As Henry M. Stanley observed of frontier women, "Western chivalry will not allow them to be abused by any man...".

Be glad she doesn't pack a derringer, Pho. Maybe you'd best check with Meade, however...

Oh, shoot, I need to clarify: The model in the image is not my friend; said friend stumbled across that pic online (or so he claims), and combined with the fact that he likes to send me the most wrong stuff he can find... well, that's how it ended up in my inbox (BTW, that one was tame compared to others; I refuse to read email from him at work!). If he had ever taken a picture of himself like that, I first would've made sure I had 20 poster-sized images of that printed out and stuck in all of his coworkers mailboxes. And then I would've shot the f***er for sending the picture to me. Then I would've kicked him. Then I would've shot him again. Then I would've phoned his wife and just asked one question: W.T.F.? And last, I would've gouged my eyes out.

So no, thank God I don't know the guy in the picture!
