I was a bad bad boy sometimes. Those milkweed pods look a lot like fish before they break open. I used to break them off and toss them to the swans who reflexively swallowed them. Ha ha ha ha ha. They never learned. Then my older brother punched me in the head and that made me realize it was evil.

I bought Red Milkweed for the garden once -- it's a native! It's a perennial! Butterflies love it! Now it's everywhere. What a weed.
Very pretty, somehow it reminds me of a peacock's feather.
