"The first member, chosen by acclamation, was psychologist Steven Pinker, whose hair has long been the object of admiration, and envy, and intense study."
Psssst... That's the guy Bob Wright is talking to on the latest Bloggingheads two posts down.

Yeah, figured that out, Ann. Interestingly, I was reading Althouse in reverse chronological order today, so in reading this post, I became curious about the first person inducted into this "madcap" group, which led me to Steven Pinker's Wikipedia entry, and THEN I scrolled down a few posts to see he was on Bloggingheads.
Gotta love a club that brings together three of my intellectual heroes: Steven Pinker, Brian May, and Norman Ramsey. In fact, it's pretty darned hard to think of any other way those three names would go together.
You never told us you were mentioned in that President Kennedy's Inaugural Address!

Does this have any thing to do with the musical Hair?
LOVED this post! Course I'm a sucker for luxuriant flowing hair... and mad scientists too.

Scientists with LFH tend to not wash it much, alas.
EDH, it's not a coincidence my mother did just that. She's often cited Kennedy's call as the reason for her (arguably) poor decision to have me.
Or did you mean "bear" in a different sense?
