Ponce de Leon's fountain in a plastic bottle. This is good visuals aiming to sell the aging Boomers some good water.

MadisonMan ayon kay ...

I would rather hear the actual Sugar Hill Gang in the ad.

Penny ayon kay ...

You mean aging boomers in their diapers, tg?

This ad is WAY TOO CUTE! I love it.

Hindi-nagpakilala ayon kay ...

But does it sell water? I'm betting no.

Bruce Hayden ayon kay ...

Politician kisses baby. Another dog bites man, unless, of course, the man is "the one".

Lyle ayon kay ...

That video is sexist.

Larry J ayon kay ...

The commercial is cute but Evian is still naive spelled backwards

Fred4Pres ayon kay ...

Just don't feed the babies any of Michelle's produce.

I'm supposed to react positively to babies with attitude?

Joe ayon kay ...

I thought it was rather tedious.

(Evian actually is pretty good bottled water. I prefer Fiji, though the filtered water where I work is excellent.)

There's also a "Making of" vid:

How did they manage to get all those members of Congress to participate in that video. And who knew they could skate (although given how they skate on so many things, we should have assumed it).

Peter Hoh ayon kay ...

At times, they look a lot like manbabies.

Sexist? And we know this how?

Ricpic is right. There's nothing endearing about babies with attitude. Also the idea of babies jumping up and clinging to a fence makes me think of aliens or demons. Either way it doesn't exactly warm the cockles of my heart.

Those babies are all wearing the perfect outfit: Unisex, class neutral, peeable, poopable, bleachable, and nonbinding with a balanced exposure of skin to allow sexual attraction during government mating week. Lets call them Volkspampers. We shall distribute them at the DMV. One pair per citizen per year. Non-citizens can wear whatever they want.

Babies. Water. Wet, sweaty diapers. Evian.

No sale here.

Get over yourselves. The ad is amusing.

I think the ad is great; if people remember the brand of water, then it works; if they don't, then it doesn't.

Now, someone is gonna laugh at this, and okay, but I'm not a bleeding-heart type: this cute ad is an example of what is called unconscious racism.

Take a look: some 12-20 babies, almost all white. Why?

Or is it really me, whose eye is drawn to the white babies because they're more like me, while the non-white faces seem invisible to me?

As I say, I'm not a bleeding heart type, and I'm not launching a crusade against Evian Water (that was the brand, right?), I'm just saying, sometimes there really is unconscious tipping toward ones own race, and this seems to be an example of it.

Having one or two darker faces is a kind of tokenism, and is condescending. My question is, would they have been willing to have more dark than white faces? Why doesn't it ever happen?

vermeer ayon kay ...

What a hyper-liberal, humorless bunch of viewers! The Evian ad is uniquely funny--I've laughed louder at each repetition. Yes, I agree that more African-American infants might have been included (there are at least three and one Asian)...but on the count of three, let's all shout "Time to get over ourselves!"

David ayon kay ...

They're clones! Look carefully and you will see that there are just three or four baby types repeated in exact copies. Creepy.

Hindi-nagpakilala ayon kay ...

the skating babies is a good idea... what are they advertising again?
