I hope you guys go to Tomato Head while you're there. Should have recommended that sooner. Really, really great pizza and salads. And sandwiches. Well, everything's good.
We're back in Madison, and we only passed through Knoxville and had a bit of a walk plus lunch with Glenn and Helen.
The restaurant was Downtown Grill & Brewery, which was very cool. And the owner was a reader of my blog ... who insisted on giving me a growler of the brew of my choice. I chose stout, and we subsequently guzzled it all in Asheville, North Carolina. And by "we," I don't mean just 2 of us. A growler is a lot.

That's one advantage of non-anonymous blogging I hadn't considered, free beer.
Had I known that was a possibility, maybe I would have blogged under my own name and posted some self portraits so folks could recognize me when I happened upon their establishments.

Rather like the Starbucks whatever-it-is-but-it-isn't-a mermaid ;-)

I'm a Knoxvillian and a lurker, but just popped in to say that I ate at Tomato Head for lunch today. Delicious.

I'm jealous!!
You have to be careful around those caryatids.
Frank Lloyd Wright had better taste in caryatids.

Life is full of coulda, shoulda, wouldas.
If you didn't check out the architecture in downtown Asheville when you were there, you should go back. Gargoyles! Grapes! Art Deco!
A veritable feast!
Caryatids are on the original Miller Department Store on Gay Street.
