Baron, I have given up all hope of exchanging bodily fluids with Althouse, so you will understand that it is not a personal interest that makes me ask:
"Someone is speaking well of you." is not yours. It's corner has a crease, the other three are smooth so they were layered when inserted. Sort of like newly printed money that comes out of the ATM occasionally.
Ah Pooh said... It's corner has a crease, the other three are smooth so they were layered when inserted. Sort of like newly printed money that comes out of the ATM occasionally.
With that same perspective of the evidence I reached a diametrically opposed conclusion.
Based on the folds, I thought "contentment" was the odd man out, but it could be the bottom one. The two middle ones look like they were nested.
It is nice that more than one commenter came up with the folding as a way of telling which one is not yours. Certainly the content of the messages would be irrelevant.
Lem - Sorry, away from the computer. Vaguely remembered Dennis Fung so I just looked him up. I did use rubber gloves in my analysis of the crease, perhaps you didn't shoo the dog away.
"Contentment is just around the corner for you. Look forward!"
Be careful around corners (both the kind you walk around, and sharp edges in general). Look out for possible sources of head trauma. A blow to the cerebral cortex could leave you incapable of forming the will to act affirmatively. (See, e.g., One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.)
"This year your highest priority will be your family."
Wisconsin will go bankrupt and no one wants to hire a con law prof.
"Someone is speaking well of you."
"Nice rack."
"Your plans are going to succeed within the year."
I argued (as Sotomayor would) that a wise Asian with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than another forensic male who hasn’t lived that life.

My dear lady that is simplicity itself.
No one speaks well of you.
At least after they get to know you.
Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha.

Why are you such a prick?
Perhaps you can figure out which fortune is not mine.
Someone is speaking well of you.
"Your present plans are going to succeed within the year" is your companion's fortune.
I take it back.
If you pay close attention to the folds "Your present plans are going to succeed within the year" is the fortune w/o a crease.
So that must be it.
"Someone is speaking well of you." is not yours. It's corner has a crease, the other three are smooth so they were layered when inserted. Sort of like newly printed money that comes out of the ATM occasionally.
You are so gallant Nichevo.
Almost a paladin of chivalry.
Please know that there is no place for paladins of any sort here.
Only trolls.
Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha.

Lem-
Since I practically always agree with your comments this is causing me some grief.

I suggest we hire Dennis Fung to clear it up ;)
You remember Dennis Fung?
OJ Simpson trial

Each "Fortune" is warped so they must all apply!

Since it was a Chinese restaurant Dennis had to be disqualified.
Samething with Henry Lee.

Why do Chinese restaurants have such big menus?

Lem -
Guess we are just going to have to wait for Judge Althouse's decision, jury still out.
Well, since the rule with fortune cookies is to add on "except in bed", the fortunes are not so much fortunate as amusing.
I wonder if there are two people somewhere with no fortunes.

No tea leaves from from Meade.
(it's been a nail biter with the bosox)

I'm guessing you mean people that didn't Madoff with anyone elses ;)
The answer is the one about looking forward — contentment around the corner.
That's too bad. All that reputable family planning, and no contentment for you.
"Contentment is just around the corner for you. Look forward."
What a rotten thing to say!
