Perez Hilton is one ugly dude. I thought gay men were supposed to be stylish and good looking.
Here's the deal:
If you throw "fighting words" at another man and you wind you wind up getting punched in the face for it, then you have no right to complain.
Even by Hilton's own admission, WIA made a reasonable request to lay off his band a little bit. Hilton's response was to go hyperbolic and start throwing epithets and disrespect. Good thing he didn't try that anywhere around here, the object of his verbal abuse wouldn't have stopped after only popping him in the head a couple of times.
This is a guy who spends his life drawing penises on people's face. Quite frankly, what's more surprising is that this hasn't happened more often.
I don't care about the details. Perez Hilton is a pussy.

The internet is both a blessing and a curse. If it weren't for the internet, I wouldn't have a clue that such creatures as Perez Hilton and Will.I.Am exist. Nor would I care.

Agree with Jim. Hilton seems to be publicity mad and out to see just how far a line he can cross with his ill-will against people that have done nothing to deserve his getting in their face.
Cruising for a beating, and perhaps to get some fat out-of-court settlements against celebrities in the manner of thug paparrazi that work to provoke celebrities just minding their own business in public.
IMO, he should be very conscious that a punch in the face is actually "getting off light". He may well face a serious beating from one of the many private gay people he has involuntarily Outed, or their friends, if he keeps it up.

Re: The concept of "fighting words". Does the law still recognize the concept that some things cannot be said without the expectation that a reasonable man would punch you in the face? If not, it should. The world would be a much politer place if it were possible to exact retribution (without fear of legal repercussions) with a good slap or punch to the face when someone crosses the line.
I say let the police sort it out. They tend to do a decent job getting to the bottom of these sorts of things.
I side with Will.i.am, simply because Perez Hilton is such an asshole.

1. Violence is never the answer, but sometimes a good old fashioned bitch slap is inevitable, and much deserved.
2. If you've seen the video of the fight, you know that Perez screamed "I don't respect you" to Will.i.am, which he doesn't mention in his video, of course.
3. If someone yelled faggot at me, I'd be inclined to punch them in the face, so he should have been prepared to get smacked. Who shouts insults at someone and can actually act surprised for being attacked back?
4. How would Perez defend himself had he called Will.i.am a ni$$er?
Ugg, I could go on. But suffice it to say, Perez is the most juvenile, sad human being I've ever met (and yes, met him multiple times and he's just as ridiculous in person). It might sound like too much, but he really is one of the worst contributors to American culture in history.
