Maybe, I shouldn’t judge harshly until I’ve tried it myself. Maybe later today I’ll see a young mother out with her children and I’ll smile as I approach her and then I’ll say, “Your children are very beautiful. Thank you for not aborting them.”

(2) I was a high school junior and it was right about the time I figured out that Kate Jackson was a far more desirable object of unobtainable masturbatory fantasy than Farrah Fawcett.

My mother seldom gave me anything but she gave me a red tee-shirt with white rubbery lettering. It read as follows:

Cornball, I know, but I actually kind of liked that tee-shirt. It was “adult” and I was the only kid at school who had one. I wore it proudly maybe 6 or 8 times before I became ashamed of it.

The reason for my change of heart, pretty much, was that I was a little slow on the up-take and it took me a few weeks before I finally figured out that my mother was having an affair with a carpet guy.
