"Fill Souter's shoes with a genial persuader."

Op-ed title.

Makes me wonder: Were they suede shoes?

Don't step on my blue persuader shoes.

Blue suede, no doubt.

It sounds like he's recommending a liberal woman who's willing to blow Anthony Kennedy. Or at least compliment his taste in upholstery.

He can appoint a jurist with that rare ability to persuade her conservative colleagues – which emphatically would affect the court's rulings.

That's a politcally correct ``her,'' the mark of a revised thought.

A revision too hastily made, because it turns out to mean further that women can't persuade a conservative of anything, no doubt because of women being led around by emotions and mood swings.

Obviously he means a Gene Kelley tap dancer who will also sing in the Hard Rain That's a Gonna Fall when the left wingers hit 5 votes for whatever on their agenda for destruction happens to come next.

You know what would be funnier is to fill Souter's shoes with shaving cream. That's always good for a laugh.

A genial persuader?

That sounds like an affectionate name for either a gun or a sex toy.

(And no, I don't think they could be the same thing.)

Ha. At first I thought it said "genital persuader" but then I realized you couldn't be talking about Souter.

If they need a Strong Persuader they can get Robert Cray.

Oh, come one.

There's gotta a be another right wing sleazeball like Scalia out there...some where.

Isn't that really what the majority her want?

Ain't gonna happen.

Jeremy, go back to snooping in your mother's underwear drawer. The adults are trying to have a conversation.

"persuader"...

Would it do any good? Can Scalia be persuaded? Doubtful at best. I'm trying to think of recent decisions where the right side of the panel didn't vote as a block of 4.

Unless the "persuader" is armed with infinite patience and a baseball bat, the vote is always going to be 4 to something unless the new pick has troubling pictures of the swing justice on a farm.

Why not another sullen curmudgeon? Maybe a liberal version of Clarence Thomas?
