My tingly spidey-senses tell me this is from Jon Stewart. You're gon'na have ta wake up preeeeety early in the morning to fool Chip into watching Jon Stewart. Ha ha ha ha ha. FAIL !
Yes, I like to call him the Althouse Comments section poltergeist, for his dogged persistence, his ability to irritate and his utterly inconsequential nature. He seems to have a particular fixation on arm flab.
Garage, garage, garage... keep trying to wake up, pal. Your job is over, it's been insideoutsourced. Barack doesn't need you anymore. You are on furlough, babe, you lovable tool you. Smoke em if you got em but careful... drug war is still on.
My kids LOVE Muenster and Lo Mien! I think I'll spring them on this for dinner tonight. See what happens... 'Course, my Taipei-born wife may voice a few mild objections. If you never hear from me again, tell Ma I died with my boots on.
On these topics Obama wants to sound like Bush (and Clinton and Bush I and Reagan and pretty much ever predecessor since FDR except Carter). And he succeeded. Just as clearly he didn't want to sound like a left wing nut, even if his campaign rhetoric occasionally had that quality. Again, he succeeded. Smart man. The extent to which Obama will do what Bush did and would have continued to do remains to be seen.
As for Muenster Lo Mein, Hong Kong cooking now uses cheese and (worse) lots of mayo. Not an improvement on classic Cantonese, IMO.
This is a good thing, no? A fool would believe that neither, in their positions, wouldn't mean it. We know how one backed it up, we'll see how the other does. My guess, it'll be a little different.
Palladian, this place is like a morgue compared to September of last year. I see the same 30 (albeit deliciously wonderful) posters' names in every thread.
Victoria, you have a distorted perspective on this. There are many new commenters and many old commenters, and the number of comments are way up. Yeah, there was a big spike in traffic when Sarah Palin was chosen, and that kept up for a while, but that was always a spike about Sarah, and nothing more general about this blog. The general trend over the year is on the increase, and the commenters here are much appreciated.
The main difference between Obama's rhetoric and Bush's rhetoric is the set of people who identify as being included in phrases like "our way of life". I would like to see a graph of the overlap (or not) between people who think that Obama means them when he says "us" as opposed to when W said it.

This gives me hope.
Because we know he does not mean it - classic.
Althouse (among others) voted for Obama because she believed he would be more moderate and pragmatic than his campaign portrayed him to be.
It's looking like she was right.
I used similar reasoning when I voted for John Kerry.
Would I have been right? Probably not.
Funny how most of that "rhetoric" was at one time proclaimed "self-evident."
Keep dreaming.
No premium ads. No blog ads. Is the Althosue act growing old and droopy?
Is this from Jon Stewart?

AJD again, in case it isn't obvious.
Is it possible that John Stewart will become funny again now? Because that would be a nice change.
AJD? Ah, good ol' mr. Pig Herpes. Memories.

Listen to the deafening silence from the audience. It could be a rough 4-8 years for Stewart.

The audience fails to understand that Steward does not mean it.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
"Why is cheese delicious on Italian food, but when you melt on Chinese food it's disgusting? I dunno!"
LOL!
Guess what? That was the first time I watched the Daily Show for more than a few seconds, in the past, oh, forever.
If Stewart continues in this vein, he will gain a new viewer.
Cheers,
Victoria
Is the Althosue act growing old and droopy?
Oh please.
Anyway, all the Professor needs is to get her commentariat back, and the joint will be jumping again.
Meade....
Smoke em if you got em but careful... drug war is still on.
Shit, I had a brilliant reply a second ago and now I forgot it already.

Eagerly waiting for Chip Ahoy to post up photos of Muenster Lo Mien.

The joint never stopped jumping. A few kids with fake IDs get in sometimes and insult the adults, but the jumpin' continues unabated.
Notice how he's apologizing for making jokes about Obama. "I don't like this either". Don't blame me, he pleads, "it's just what I do".
He's talking to the "correspondent" but his words are aimed at the audience.

Traffic is up here. Comments are also up. There just aren't any ads at the moment... possibly due to economic hard times.

Huh? I haven't gone anywhere. It's you who abandoned us.

VB was gone from election day to innaugaration day. I am still gone.
This place always seems pretty busy to me.
Four more years! Four more years!
I look forward to four more years of Bushian foreign policy.
