I am concerned about the state of your roof. Few of the other houses in your neighborhood appear to have these icicle issues. Is it that you are shooting toward the south, and all the other roofs in the pictures are on the north?
You had your gutters "done"? Don't know what that means. Proper roofing, a properly insulated attic, soffits that are well vented to the ridge, and well maintained shingles should prevent icicles. Hire someone to look into it - part of the system is not functioning correctly.

The roof from which those icicles hang is not over an attic, nor is there a soffit of any kind with any space to vent. It's a "flat" (slanted) roof that is solid through to the ceiling on the other side. There are layers, including insulation, but that's what it is. There are no shingles.
Guys, we've been through this before. She has done what she can. Let's admire the cruel dangerous beauty she is sharing with us. And they really are exquisite photos. Just don't stand directly under the damn killers that's all.
BTW, no icicles yet, but it is snowing here in the desert.
We drove the kids up to Palomar Mountain yesterday to find some snow. We had a snowball fight, then got back in the car and drove back down. So very nice.
I'm afraid that there's one more storm headed eastwards--but after that--clear skies!

(If this discussed last year, sorry.)
I know it's not good to have icicles, but I don't know what to do about it. I had all the gutters done fairly recently.
fenestral occlusion
Ann, believe me when I say that I only have your best interests at heart.
Step away from the icicles, baby. You're beginning to obsess.

Get out of your house while you still can! The icicles are closing in on you!
LOL.
And yes, it's not a gutter problem, it's an attic insulation problem.

It's a guy thing Meade. We can't help it.

With you on that, John. I'm the worst about it of anyone I know hence the unsolicited advice.
Your desert sounds very cool on so many levels. ha.
