"The direct opposite of honorable black Americans."

That would be Barack Obama, per al Qaeda #2 Ayman al-Zawahri.

Yeah, Obama committed an unpardonable sin: he won an election.

Is there some reason that NBC feels the need to say "calling him a demeaning racial term implying that Obama is a black American who does the bidding of whites"? We know that it refers to "uncle tom," so why not use that two-word phrase instead of a seventeen word description? Or are they paid by the word?

Wait a minute! Doesn't it count for anything with AQ that Obama is a Muslim?

Well, it looks like the new boss is the same as the old boss in the eyes of Al Qaeda. That's no surprise to me, but many told us that the whole world would love us if only we got rid of BushHitler and his Republicans and installed the Chosen One.

On the other hand, here's a video of Abd al-Bari Atwan, a pan-Arab newspaper editor, using the example of Obama's election to call on Arab leaders to give all their citizens--black or not--human rights...

"In the U.S., not only is the change of power carried out by peaceful means, but there is a black president – from the lowest ranks of society to the top...[Arabs would say to Obama] are a slave, you are black, you need a "guarantor," you are a Kenyan, and your origins are unknown. I'm sad to say that we Arabs are the epitome of racism. Look at the foreign [workers] in the Gulf – they have no rights. These workers demonstrate, demanding to be placed 10, rather than 20, in a room, demanding to be transported in buses, like humans, rather than in trucks, like beasts...We are the epitome of racism, and I believe that Obama will demand that these Arab countries carry out reforms..."

There will be lots of young Arab men looking at Obama on TV and saying to themselves, "Hmm...look what America can do" and "Who would I rather be? Obama in a mansion or Zawahiri in a cave?"

I'm sure it'll count for something that he's an apostate. At any rate, Obama never said that everyone would look at us differently just because he was President, only that some people would.

Simon, it's in the second paragraph and it's "house negro." But they're obviously padding the story.

ha ha ha... Ayman al-Zawahri is such a demeaning scatalogical term implying that he is an islamist who isn't worth a piece of dog excrement.

Well so far, the visible and audible portion of the "Arab Street" has chosen the cave, as have the majority of those who own the guns and political reins of power. Perhaps that will change, but I'm betting not anytime soon.

Use of the word "direct" in conjuction with "opposite" makes this sound overly literal. That being the case, according to AQ, Obama is a dishonorable, white, citizen of some other country.

Oh, that went right past me. Too little caffeine, too much DayQuil! Okay, so they don't even have the excuse that they won't print the word - it's pure padding.

Yachira--

If I were Obama, I'd want to go on a tour of Arab countries, and part of the deal would be that I'd get to speak at open-air rallies (just as the Pope does).

No way Mubarak or any other Arab leader would allow that. Only the Iraqis would go for it.

We know that Obama has some fluency in Arabic because he knows the first 5-6 lines of the call to prayer by heart. (He recited them for the NYT's Kristof.) He could do a pretty darn good job reading a transliterated Arabic text.

He would blow many minds in the Arab world. In Iran, too. If he can use his oratorical skills to incite change there, I'm for it.

The only way to blow Zawahiri's mind is a Hellfire missile launched from a Predator drone. That's the only kind of mind-blowing that gets attention in the Islamic world.

Mohammed Atta was a trained engineer who could have been pulling down a six-figure salary and living in a McMansion but instead decided flying a plane into the Twin Towers was a lot more fun.

Maybe when young Arab men stop blaming everyone else for their own failures as and stop using their religion as a justification for murder, sexism and inflating their own pitiful sense of self worth than maybe they’d achieve something.

At any rate, Obama never said that everyone would look at us differently just because he was President, only that some people would.

I’m so thrilled that France and Germany think we’re acceptable now.

I’m certain the Secret Service Presidential Detail would be tickled pink for such an opportunity to hone their skills.

"Hope and Change" run headlong into reality. 52 percent of voters are about to discover that, Yes, they really do hate us. It really isn't all because of Bush.

And of course these same voters are finding out that Obama really meant Clinton, part 3.

I'm also a bit hesitant to say that we should be cheering the overthrow of the Arab regimes. We insisted on a Palestinian vote and the results proved a bit disappointing.

Are we sure of that? I know the first few lines of the Nicene Creed by heart (credo in unum deum, patrem omnipotentem, etc.), but that doesn't mean I'd be able to get through a speech in Latin without embarasssing myself. Similarly, while I have some modest proficiency in French, German, Korean, and Japanese, the only language I'd feel comfortable delivering a speech in is Japanese, even if it was all written down in front of me and all I had to do was read the teleprompter. Obama has admitted that he's monolingual, so he probably shouldn't be going around trying to deliver speeches in langauges he doesn't speak.

Actually I am wondering that now that Al Queda has demonstrated their racism by referring to Obama as a house negro, will the MSM finally denounce them as racist Islamofascists and jump on our team?

Or am I expecting too much?

As Rush observed, Al Qaeda has crossed the line. The media are now against them.

Maybe being in the cave prevented Zawahiri from seeing Obama's hopiness. He missed the "unity" memo.

I was thinking the same thing. Imagine the horror: "I mean, I always knew they killed, maimed, raped and tortured people... but they said WHAT??!!"

Given that it's Zawahiri we're talking about, I'd expect his idea of "honorable black Americans" is something along the lines of Muhammad and Malvo.

The Reuters report contained the information that al-Zawahri also accused Obama of "turning his back on his Islamic roots"

Wonder why the AP article neglected to include that?

Any guesses?

Some would see Obama as an apostate, because of his father.

Does al-Z include Condoleezza Rice as an 'honorable black American'?

Obama has already changed minds in Iran-
Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, a member of the Iranian Assembly of Experts

Other people run the show. For almost 60 years – since the days of Eisenhower – American foreign policy has not changed one bit. It's only the game that has changed. Sometimes they think they can control things by using the slogan of change, and other times by using the slogan of the war on terror. So it wouldn't be right to pin one's hopes on them. . . .

The American politicians should know that as long as they persist in their arrogance, this [Iranian] people will not change. The slogans of this people will remain the same. Our people has not changed one bit. Its slogan of hatred toward America continues to resound: Death to America.

Crowd: Death to America

Death to America

Death to America

Death to America

oh, never mind.
