Last night there was an episode of "How It's Made" which has a section on the mfg of playing cards. They showed cards from different countries in part of that section. Did this inspire our hostess? or pure chance?
Piatnik is an Austrian company and they make all sorts of luxury and specialty cards (click on the luxury cards button to the left, can't direct link).
(I also have the Japanese and Rococo sets, myself)

They threw some Cossacks in there too. Maybe because Cossacks are mostly, well, Ukrainian. Awesome technique though.
Good morning to all!
It's true, they are an attractive alternative to the tired and stale face cards.
But might I suggest that the Wisconsin Band might also make a nice deck, a deck with 300 jokers.
Is that the Jack or the Queen?
"I drink your milkshake... with a receeding hairline."
...a deck with 300 jokers.
Congressional deck? They are expert in building a house of cards.
Looking at those cards, I was reminded of the Soviet cartoons of my childhood. Like this one
Here, more Soviet cartoons with Ukrainian mustaches!
These cartoons explain a lot about the mental state of Cubans my age...hehehe..
The card design makes it hard to see, but the guy is wearing shorts.
For reference, I think that guy is a Hungarian Hussar complete with Dolman and Pelisse. Hungarian Hussars being a class of Ukrainian bogeyman
Roger?
Sgt, no he's a Cossack from the Don river.
Jeez, I just thought he was "Taras Bulba.

Oh yes, these will definitely be a DTL favorite. I'm sure he's already ordering them as we speak.
-indeed, the Badgers band leader
That guy is cooler than Jack Sparrow any day.
Careful with this website! My AV software picked up malware here.

How about Hebrew?
Yesterday I saw a Hebrew BHO sticker in my hood.
Full disclosure; my hood is packed with a lot of different BHO stickers and yard signs (including my own "Republicans for Obama" sticker.)
Maybe I should gather the neighbors so we can load up on lattes and create an ode to BHO.
Or, maybe that's already been done enough.
The card is the dreaded "B" of Spades.
I HATE it when that card comes up.

That's Gleb Sparrow.
I'd rather go with this Piatnik Glorious America set.

Ernie, did you change your ID handle, or this is another Cu'anito??
Cheers,
Victoria
