"Obama pals around with hippies."

Bill Ayers is "the pussiest terrorist," according to Jackie and Dunlap:

(So many great lines in this new episode of Red State Update.)

That is very funny. And I agree, palling around with hippies is BAD!

Hippies who want to radicalize Chicago Public Schools with grant money. That was not so funny, because that is a glimpse of what is to come.

Maybe we should follow the model set by Fox News and make the Chicago Public Schools 'fair and balanced'. We can radicalize and 'fundamentalize' them simultaneously. I say, teach those school kids both Marxist concepts and Intelligent Design. Let's have Flush Limbaugh, Pawn Hannity, and Bill 'the Weather Guy' Ayres design the curriculum.

Speaking of pussies.....how about the stellar job Sarah Pallin's husband did protecting his wife from that State Trooper brother-in-law. He hid in the governor's office to take on the dude, rather than throwin down one-on-one, Octagon style.

Bill Ayers' Final Solution?

Bill Ayers is a has been terrorist now, going the Saul Alinski route to achieve his radical goals, but when he was a Weatherman was just as bad as any terrorist out there now.

Red State Update rocks. I was curious what Jackie looked like in real life. Hmm.

Does anyone know if any other WUO members or supporters, like Ayers, went on college teaching positions, especially in education departments?

Does anyone know if Ayers truthfully filled out his application for employment at his university? Would failure to give honest background information be grounds for dismissal? Even if there was no conviction or admission of guilt, would lack of moral character/dishonesty might constitute sufficient grounds for dismissal, even if the person had tenure?

Here is a 400+ page FBI report on the WUO. (It's available thanks to the Freedom of Information Act.)

Do the experiment I did a few days ago: Take the names of some of the group's more obscure members. Run Google searches on their names, along with terms like 'professor,' etc. On the third name, I came up with another WUO member who appears to have gone into higher education and—interestingly—supports Sen. Obama. That led me to yet another person, a non-WUO member who was close to the WUO, who is in higher education.

Fascinating. Coincidence?

Finally, if you were a local beat reporter, wouldn’t you or your news organization already have thought of this story? Wouldn’t that make a great feature story, telling readers about the shocking--or at least fascinating--personal history of a local teacher?

We wrong the harmless, kindly hippie by associating him with the sort of person Obama pals around with.

About that Rick Rubin video: if you haven't checked it out yet it's the same two guys that do Red State Update.

I'm thinking: only 3,000? Weird.

Prof.:

Here are the names of person who signed the petition who identify themselves as being at your university:

514 Ken Zeichner University of Wisconsin-Mad
534 Taina R. Collazo-Quiles University of Wisconsin-Madison
535 Brian W. Lagotte University of Wisconsin-Ma
542 Ross Colin The University of Wisconsin-Madison
543 A-Ou Liang
544 Andrew Clement University of Wisconsin-Madison
546 Vonzell Agosto University of Wisconsin-M
Evelin Rodriguez University of Wisconsin-Madis
2430 Beth Graue University of Wisconsin Madison
Todd Lilly University of Wisconsin-Madison
2846 Catherine Compton-Lilly
3014 Julie Mead

Great newspaper story. Are those people really at your school? Did they really sign? Why did they sign? And what would a Google search on their names and backgrounds reveal?

Folks, I'll say it again. Most of us thought Ayers and his ilk were murdering asswipes back then, not heroes.

No, but "dirty hippie" and acquitted Chicago Eight defendant John Froines teaches at the UCLA School of Public Health.

Um.... maybe we should go back to basics and not do any of the above.

Instead, how about we teach the children how to read, write, do basic math, learn geography, world history, American history and basic science. Teach the children some functional skills so they can be gainfully employed, maybe even start their own businesses and stop being a drain on society.

Nah.... let's indoctrinate the little shits instead and teach them that the government is going to give them everything they want.....as long as they toe the line and don't ask for too much.

Who vetted the list fred linked to? Because I doubt that National Review's Ramesh Ponnunu really supports Ayers.

In an educational market that valued diversity and competition this would probably work wonderfully.

When it comes to education there are those who value choice and those who don't. If people with an agenda expected to have to gain their students by convincing parents rather than by using the force of the state to preach their message to students directly in order to remove them from the influence of their parents, then the battles over ideology would be taking place among adults.

As they should be.

And much as some of the liberal-radical stuff makes me cringe, what seems to happen is that some small school... even a Muslim one, even a Black Panther sort of one, even the most fundy of Christian Fundy church school... they seem to do a pretty good job educating children that have a good grasp of the basics, are hardworking, and generally have been inculcated with values *such as* hard work and honesty.

Favoring order and uniformity might be less nervous making than the chaos of widely diverse ideological education in private and charter schools, homeschools, church schools and the school started by the local coven, but mostly because we don't expect that diversity and we are *accustomed* to feeling like we have a right to direct the education of Other People's Children.

There is no reason at all that we should be battling over whole mega-school districts except that people like Ayers realize that it saves them from having to make their political arguments to individual adults.

Converting Adults is hard.

You know, this fighting over Intelligent Design reminds me: Where was the fight over teaching radical leftist anti-Americanism?

It is to history what ID is to science.
