"My husband said they looked like stab wounds but pausing the DVR didn't offer many clues."
So are you watching "Survivor: Gabon"? In HDTV? Bug-bitten, everyone looks like they have acne. All these young people who, in their regular lives, are unusually attractive, are now seeing how gruesome they look in the wild. And this was only the first episode.
ADDED: There are some older people too, but they can't be vain, can they?

The contestants should cooperate to develop a religion that makes it a sacrament to paint each others' bodies with mud.
There's a UW-Madison grad on the show this season.
It is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. I used to work with a guy from Gabon - that is not a comfortable, pest-free place they are camped in.
And how about that Olympic gold medalist - it looks like she is off the 'roids and on the cheeseburgers, based on her inability to run uphill.
How about putting the "vomit" tag on this one too?
Bleeper, do you think maybe she was pretending she couldn't? She deliberately failed to state that she was an Olympian.
She was a winded lard ass who couldn't make it up the hill without assistance. There is no pretend, there is do or not do. She didn't. Once you taper off the 'roids you become what we saw - a fat person who cannot compete.
I was amazed about the gold medal winner too. We thought she would tear up that first race - I mean, isn't that what she WON A GOLD MEDAL FOR? And I don't believe at all that she was faking. She needed a lot of help to get up that hill - she wasn't just slightly lagging behind, like someone who was holding back to not show their hand. I never made the steroid connection but I did think "Oh how the mighty have fallen" as I watched her.
It looks to me like it is going to be a great season.
Marion Jones is a local. She has served time for lying about her use of PED. Now that she is no longer juicing she is just an overweight ex-con. Not saying I could beat her over 100 meters, but she is no longer a world class athlete.
