Medical technology has yet to develop an oxygen monitor so sensitive it can read light transmissions through all those geologic layers of botox, collagen and pancake makeup.
When you look in the dictionary for dishonest, immoral, disingenuous, unethical, and shameless, the first definition you will find for all of them is Al Gore.
Asked by Ms. Cooper whether, if Mr. Rove were found in contempt, would he be put “in that little jail cell that’s in the basement of the House?” the audience cheered.
Here's where I stopped reading. Apparently, hatefulness is a requirement for membership in the Democratic party. I refuse to let the hate get on me lest it change my natural charm and harshen my fluffy self.
I do not think Hugh Hefner would be the best possible spokesman for an abstenence only program. I have the same problem with the private jet set that preach to me about my carbon footprint. People who live in glass houses shouldn't ban Windex.
"Addressing the Washington Policymakers in Seattle, WA, Dr. Don Easterbrook said that shifting of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) from its warm mode to its cool mode virtually assures global cooling for the next 25-30 years and means that the global warming of the past 30 years is over. The announcement by NASA that the (PDO) had shifted from its warm mode to its cool mode is right on schedule as predicted by past climate and PDO changes (Easterbrook, 2001, 2006, 2007) and is not an oddity superimposed upon and masking the predicted severe warming by the IPCC. This has significant implications for the future and indicates that the IPCC climate models were wrong in their prediction of global temperatures soaring 1°F per decade for the rest of the century."
For the IPCC's predictions to be anywhere near correct the world has to warm by 1 degree F over the next 2.5 years. There is zero indication that is going to happen.
If we are not warming as Gore tells us we are, I believe that Gore, et al, should be held legally and financially accountable. Gore has already cost the world billions of dollars in lost jobs, increased food prices, and driven anxiety levels to record levels in the more gullible segments of our population.
Also, Dr. James Hansen, of NASA who advocates AGW skeptics be put in prison should probably himself be put away since if we are indeed not warming he has either lied, acted out of utter incompetence or probably both.
I confess that all the nastiness of the netroots means I rarely read those sites. So it was that the bit about the progressives' interest in "pushing the edge of the envelope of technology" took me totally aback. I was under the impression that, except for matters of their own convenience (cars, computers, cells, jets, and air conditioning) progressives tended to be Luddites. Okay, maybe that was a nasty swipe, but still, my experience is that as a group the far left tends to be much more anti-technology than other groups. Anyone else have a similar take?
Gore did well on Meet the Press this morning. I only twice wanted to throw my tea cup at the TV.
Why doesn't Gore lead by example? His example should be his immediate cessation of all use of fossil fuels.
He should immediately shift to solar powered aircraft, wind powered trains, tidewater powered delivery trucks, etc.
Immediately stop using Suburbans. Drive only a Prius, an even then only in electric mode.
Give up all items manufactured of plastic. Tear out his asphalt driveway. Unplug the indoor pool. Close off half of the 10,000 SF house. Cook using only a solar powered cookstove and coffeepot.
Immediately cease all appearances on television networks until all studio lighting, cameras, and transmission equipment can be certified as powered entirely by sunbeams.
Why wait 10 years if we are dooming ourselves by use of fossil fuels?
My take - the climate fluctuates. We don't control the climate cycles. We weren't here when Greenland was actually green. We weren't here before the great glacier, during the glacial period, and when the glaciers melted. None of this was caused by anyone driving an SUV.
Gore is a political hack who is becoming greatly enriched by telling us proles how to live, while he lives exactly in the manner he proscribes.
So Gore doesn't see wind as the way to go and yet is aiming for 100% renewable energy in 10 years? There aren't that many square miles for solar power, so maybe he's gotten on board with nuclear?
Mr. Gore spoke for a few minutes, noting that the polar ice cap, which is about the size of the continental United States and has been there for three million years, has a 75-to-80 percent chance of completely melting in five years.
Well that's a measurable short-term prediction. Please mark your calendars.
[Gore] repeated the challenge he issued earlier this week to the country to produce 100 percent of the nation’s electricity from renewable energy and clean, carbon-free sources within 10 years. And he called on the bloggers to help achieve it...
I noticed that too and wondered if the 10-year plan somehow harnessed the power of the melted ice caps. Else, doesn't the 5-year prediction make his 10-year plan at least 5 years late?

He invented it; and now Gorezilla-like he intends to rule it!
Unshocked!
And did Pelosi really "giggle"? If so, did she actually giggle all the way through saying, "isn’t it exciting he’s here?”
Did she blush, too?
Did she blush, too?

So . . . who knows?
Why this has caused Pablo Picasso to churn through my mind, I can't quite explain.
And me, on my way to an outside worship service and everything. For shame!

The bubble above their heads in the Gore-Pelosi pic: "They have no idea we're dumping them after the convention, do they?"

Netroots!
Nutroots!
Being 100% off of fossil fuels in ten years is a ludicrous goal.
Fossil Fuel. That's what John McCain uses in the morning for that extra zip.
McCain/Romney 08

Gore. The word invokes so much imagery and yet all forgettable.

$100 to the person who invents an angst-turbine.

Barf. Is there anything LESS thrilling than Al Gore showing up, anywhere.
