Dawn comes to Brooklyn.

Dawn comes to Brooklyn

This morning's fisheye view comes from the rare vantage point of the east terrace and shows the lesser skyline, the Brooklyn skyline.

Picasso had his "Blue Period." In the future, blogologists will study Althouse’s "Fisheye Period."

(Okay, I admit it. I’m all proud of myself for having invented the word "blogologist.")

Actually, those building slightly bent like that remind me of Picasso's cubism.

Do you have a ship's wheel up there as well?

And a spyglass.

Picasso too was every-perspective-at-once, making his late porn period novel. ``347 suite'' for example.

Steer away before it's too late!

Sometimes it's good to turn around
And look the other way
And show why folks love Brooklyn so --
A homey place to stay.

Ann-

Is this lens a drug-substitute? Are you going to cover Byrds' covers next?

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

It's the opposite of a spyglass. The fisheye pushes everything away.

Ann, what's the deal with Brooklyn? I've been reading for years and I can't remember, nor find any mention of, the reason why you are currently residing in my (newly acquired) home city.

I like the photos. What camera body are you using? Take any photos of the (meager) snowfall?

Fish-eyes are great for action photography, like skateboarding.

Kenny: Althouse is teaching at Brooklyn Law School this academic year. See this post.
