Pogo, Elisa is a complete nutter, and she's like that by choice. She chooses to use a completely different set of reference points and entirely alien vocabulary, but she's also the one who auditioned for, and agreed to be on, Project Runway. I loved Heidi Klum's expression when the topic of "spit marks" came up. Certain fabrics, you spit on them, they're ruined. Elisa is showing her lack of experience there, and also a certain lack of respect. Grinding that silk into the grass last week was practically criminal, especially since she didn't even use the material in her dress.
I think the outfit she made with Sweet P this week only worked because Sweet P brought her back down to earth, where human women would be wearing her garments, not marionettes. I liked it much better than the dress/vest combo that did win, although I did like that little vest (I'd never wear it, though.) I was surprised at how much I liked it, but again I think a lot of the credit goes to Sweet P for the actual construction.
Sooner or later, Elisa's inability or unwillingness to use a sewing machine is going to get her auf'd. The two unsurvivable flaws on PR are poor construction and boring designs. Elisa will never be guilty of the second, but the first will sink her well before the final three.

I was fully prepared to dismiss Elisa as a complete nutter. But her comments and work were surprisingly mature.
Maybe it's all merely a method of winning. Crazy like a fox.

Good call, Joan.
Yeah, whenever a judge says poor construction, I see them laying crepe for dismissal.
What's this? Coming to my house, with gifts? Oh, Dr. Althouse...I'm flattered! :)
