The orange chrysanthemums on the top step are dying for a drink. Boo.

campy म्हणाले...

That second shot is a Hate Crime waiting to happen.

There ain't no blue in these here pitchers,
Way up in the sky's where blue should stay;
Down here on earth all earthy riches,
Down here on earth: our home of clay.

The people in the top photo really went all out to decorate. Makes a great photo, though, good catch.

We once had some white mums that turned purple as they faded--a great improvement, as I think bright white flowers, like white woodwork, are garish.

That crack in the first shot is most disgusting one to be found in Brooklyn Heights, except for the possible exception of Rosie Lopez who lives on Cranberry St over the movie house. Just sayn'

Ralph L म्हणाले...

The crack is wonderful! It screams "Halloween" louder than the pumpkin.

Trooper York म्हणाले...

Yeah but Rosie's screams "Oh the horror" louder than Edgar Allen Poe at Rue Morgue.

Trooper York म्हणाले...

Allegedly.

Ralph L म्हणाले...

Only with you, Trooper.

Trooper York म्हणाले...

Well it wasn't a total loss. It's the only time I ever felt like Derek Jeter.

Actually, now that I look at it, the second picture is her windowsill. I think that's the guy who she picked up at Cody's last 4th of July. I guess his escape attempt didn't work out. Love stinks!

You know, that second display is shocking in its insensitivity to decomposing Americans everywhere.

Ralph L म्हणाले...

The top photo really is suitable for framing, but I'll bet Ann has too many to chose from. The lines, planes, textures, colors, contrasts are all alluring. Very cool how the crack points to the pumpkin, the only organic thing. Every sturdy wall cracks, every pumpkin rots, "our home of clay."

I think that first pumpkin's going to jump!

The third group--it shows how pumpkins of all shapes and sizes and political beliefs can have a happy Halloween together. As long as they're all orange.

Revenant म्हणाले...

I'm amused by the lone pumpkin sitting on a windowsill. A lonely little voice of holiday spirit crying in the urban wilderness.

The first picture is amazing. It looks like an Edward Hopper painting.
You have some eye.
