Paris is on probation until March of '09. Can she make it? This is a serious life-style change for her.
Can she rise to the occasion? Let us hope that this spiritually destitute young lady has learned her lesson and becomes a role model for other young women choosing between girls-gone-wild and the Paris of old.
In the previous thread I said I'd never been a Paris fan but after her mistreatment by the screwy LA justice system and the notion in America that she deserved more jail time just for being a spoiled brat, I hoped she kept her chin up, came out of this bigger than ever, and got the last laugh.
I turned on Fox in the wee hours and they cancelled all their regular programming. Out pranced Paris from jail walking like a model in a fashion show, face glowing, chin up.
Fox was geared up to spend the rest of the night following Paris' Escalade around the freeways with some British-accented tabloid journalist breathlessly updating on which house she might be going, what that might mean, and assuring us they had crews at every destination she might wind up.
The paparazzi were violating every traffic law, endangering every car driving nearby, and sending constant flashes into the vehicle (potentially blinding the driver). One commenter mentioned in fear that this was how Princess Diana died. I never figured out why Diana was so famous, either, but that Paris is now being compared with her and causing as big media swarms reveals this to be a victory for the heiress.
I fell asleep before I saw where she wound up, but it was great.
Meanwhile, the LA County Prosecutor, Rocky Delgadillo, who many thought was so right-on for helping to make sure Paris would serve significantly more time than anyone has ever served in LA for driving with a suspended license, is now going down the drain with the revelations of campaign lies, ethics violations, and criminality by he and his wife exceeding anything Paris did.
We'll see if Rocky Delgadillo makes a speech demanding that he, too, get a maximum sentence to ensure we don't have a two-tiered justice system. Whatever the case, you can count me unsurprised that the prosecutor turned out to be worse than the spoiled brat he tried to make his name off of.

Sorry, but the only time Paris will be compared to Diana is the ridiculous amount of press that follows her every move. Let's see, Diana = charitable, classy. Paris = thinks she has the right to drive drunk without a license. Don't think anyone will make the mistake of comparing the two.
"her mistreatment by the screwy LA justice system" I hope that if I ever get busted in LA I get the same level of mistreatment by the LA justice system. "clarence has to cross-reference any decision regarding whether he needs to take a crap with scalia." Huh. I thought that racist crap had been discredited enough by now by people who actually looked at all the decisions. Leave it to the left to put the white sheets on whenever they think it will help their cause.

Diana chose to marry into the deeply evil, immoral royal family, to live the high life in palaces. You say she was charitable. How do you think the poor of the United Kingdom feel about an insane thing called a royal family living off their backs?
Paris never drived as insanely as Diana had her limo drive on the streets of Paris. Diana's driver endangered people far more than Paris ever did.
I hope that if I ever get busted in LA I get the same level of mistreatment by the LA justice system.
You hope to serve 3 and a 1/2 weeks for driving with a suspended license (when she thought she was authorized to drive for work, btw) when everyone else in LA County would only serve one day at most? And you'd enjoy that whiule a criminal LA County Prosecutor is using you to hype himself?

I breathlessly await your simulblog of her interview with Larry King.
Larry King is still alive?

Larry King is still alive?"
There are two schools of thought on that...
Hope springs eternal, but I'm not sure Paris gets the point. From one of her statements to the press:
"In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the decisions I make."
Blink.

She looks good. Lynwood Jail, the new Betty Ford Center?
Would have been more fun had Paris’ phalanx of attorneys and accompanying paparazzi been allowed to spring her from jail on July 14.
Paris free, and yet Prince (with dinner from a specially Prince-ified menu) costs $3121 to see at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.
Damn.
(he earns his by being a legendary showman, and she . . .)

Go have fun now, Paris.
"In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the decisions I make."
What does Clarence Thomas have to do with Paris?
modern,
you hit that one right on the nose.
clarence has to cross-reference any decision regarding whether he needs to take a crap with scalia.
Isn't Larry King a pseudonym for Jeremy Bentham?

Jeremy Bentham is more animated than Larry King.
